I'd just get a Pentax 50mm F/1.4 screwmount lens and get an adaptor for the Canon, cheapest way to get quality lens.

I went into that second hand camera/lens shop near Mornington crescent Tube in Camden (can't remember the name, I think maybe 'Nicholas' ??) - I was amazed at the sheer amount of old lenses they have in there, hundreds (literally) on display, every make, every speed, every type, every mount, hundreds and hundreds and hundreds !!

Really ! The main bloke, this black guy with wonky eyes seemed pretty down to earth to me, he seemed to know pretty much everything there is to know about cameras/lenses - but of course that has no bearing on his dodgy rating.

I went in to see about getting another OM2 body. He showed me one; the back was loose. He told me this was a 'feature' of the OM2. Not of any of the ones I've owned up to now it's not, I thought. He then brought out an equally knackered Nikon FM to show that this 'feature' was not uncommon. I left empty handed.
Loads of good stuff in there, a lot of junk too: make sure you know the difference before they talk to you.

Yeah, I see what you are saying, you need to know what you want before going into the viper's nest. It's a fucking jungle of gear in there.
