i've got some Truvativ Hussefelt oversize riser bars, 40mm rise. about 650mm in length. Volume LA grips included. yours for £15. i can throw in the matching stem for an extra tenner, if you want. proper chunky setup

    edit:

  • nesbit pm me a pic if possible and ill more than likely take them off your hands :)

  • Anybody have a rear quick release skewer ???

  • pm'd

  • Or even Nesbit...?

didn't see that until today... if i hadn't just been to parrs wood and bought some junk for polo bike i would be tempted, although i think size wise its better suited to nesbit.

The rear wheels i bought today is QR freehub, and so far i've not been able to keep the wheel from slipping forwards in the dropouts (horiz). Might turn out to be a waste of money :(... anyone had success securing a rear wheel in trackends or horizontal dropouts with QR?

Also... WANTED: Pair of handlebar grips that'll be safe for polo use.

possibly, if i can't use mine to secure the wheel in a horizontal dropout (see above rant), its yours.

  • Not needed anymore. Uhm try sheldon brown's website he seems a fan of fixed and QR

  • i'm definitely buying this :)

yeah, and other online forums suggest its possible... i'll give it another try in the morning.

  • aking - there's a guy on here sells home made tensioners for forward facing dropouts. I've one been using it with qr.

I'd like to keep it for future project but you'd be welcome to borrow it to try out & see if it'd be the solution for you before you buy. gimme shout if so. A.

p.s. i'll try find thread for you too.

  • is it this thread: http://www.lfgss.com/thread19638.html ?

from the last posts, it looks like he isn't responding anymore

  • ah, yes didn't remember I'd got mine 2nd hand, worth giving the thread a bump for others that may be idle out there maybe?

  • i'm not gonna bother with tugs just yet as i found the problem. the axle (hollow threaded bit) was sticking out past the outside of the dropouts, so the skewer was closing against the axle ends rather than the dropouts. I spread the dropouts spacing a bit and stuck a couple of washers on the axle so the axle ends inside each dropout. appears to hold nicely now. if i do get slippage, might look to get some tugs tho.

  • Awaiting this in the post... http://s26.photobucket.com/albums/c1...view=slideshow
Once it's here ill be on the lookout for gears, brakes, levers etc.
Looking for Ultegra and would like to upgrade to sti shifters.
If anyone's got any let me know.

  • wanted lock :preferably krypto or abus

  • you're probably better off looking on amazon, man. locks rarely come up and get snapped up pretty quick when they do

wanted lock :preferably krypto or abus

  • aking - makes sense, no worries

ammar re: locks if you find one cheap, cyclesurgery offer price match. saves waiting on postage to happen

  • .

  • are they still there?

just looks like a neat way to store bikes.

The bike stands hung around for ages but finally disappeared last month. Aldi are now doing a bike pulley for £4.99 but doesn't really inspire confidence.
