  • I'll knock you off! In a non-gay way.

  • BMX has become quite seperate from its roots though, far more than fixed wheels bikes have.

If you can't take it on a track, it isn't a track bike. Using your argument, why not call Unipaks Keirin bikes? Or £79 full suspension MTBs downhill bikes?

unipaks are keirin? i don't think that really follows, a brand mentally equating a fairly specific frame manufacturing tradition, regardless of quality, i don't see this working.

as far as mtb's i guess you could say that, but again, i think downhill is a more specific term, like a park bike or trails, not simply a bmx, road, mtb, track, etc. you've got to at least stay within the same degree of generalisation. however, both the halfords special and the fine tuned downhill bike fall under 'moutain bike' even though the former is never going to see a mountain.

  • Keirin is a specific bike use, as is track.

By your argument you would call a Unipak with a fixed wheel a track bike? Expect this argument to continue when you get round here. Actually, you should have left already.

  • yeah yeah leaving now

  • They look like bareknuckle frames ? No?

NO! Fork look similar, but the angles are far too relaxed to be compared to (my new) Bareknuckle.

These frames look ok, nothing special tho. Guess you can't blame BLB for supplying the demand etc.

  • If it's not a track bike, don't call it a fucking track bike.

  • Look even Brick Lane are calling it a "531 Tack Frame" Now I don't know what a tack frame is but I know its not a track frame.

Is there any legal reason you couldn't ride this bike on a track? The angles might be a little slack compared to a modern track bike but that doesn't mean it can't be used on a track and hence can be called a track bike.

    wooo calm down dear!

yes the forks look the same, very generic straight fork...and thats where the similarity ends.

  • expect the fork on the BLB are noticably thinner than the bareknuckle one.

  • the forks look the same because they're using the same fork crown which is designed for a Columbus straight fork blade, go read through the Ceeway catalogue!

  • BLB and Brass Knuckle....i believe imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

  • real nice frames, i need to save up though.

I'd rather pick up a copy of Razzle

  • i've always thought the bareknuckle was ace.

just to correct and prevent the consumers like myself from being mislead - bareknuckle columbus max blades plus columbus max aero fork crown replica

blb frame - lc18 crown plus matching fork blades

now please go and read the catalogue yourself.thanks

  • can i just out of interest ask about how exactly you define track frame?????
question?? dolan track champion is really slack in the front end, the bottom bracket is 1cm lower that the 28.5mm standard and yet somehow for some strange reason people race them on the track and im sure they are winning..........is it still a track frame?????oh sorry modern track frame... englighten the poor consumer me???

  • BLB and Brass Knuckle....i believe imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

there is only so much you can do to make a one TIG frame with no branding look different than other TIG frame with no branding......and im sure euroasia was trying to imitate IRO and iro wanted to imitate gorilla bikes and they all secretly wish that their products look like unipak.....

and yeah it is BAREKNUCKLE not BRASSKNUCKLE just to avoid customer confusion
brassknuckle is a budget entry level track frame resembling object with track ends made out of 7005 aluminium with compact geometry and curved aluminium forks...thanks

this is what I think, nowadays track frame are usually alu, and as we know they're stiffer than steel, so having a very tight frame probably no longer needed for track since alu is already stiff enough.

can anyone correct me on that?

  • I'm flattered people, now stop posting pis of my bikes!

As for barspins, probably but my front brake gets in the way! ;)
