£299 - 329? Aren't TokyoFixedGear selling imported Kerin frames for the same price with headset and BB? I know what I'd rather have.....

friendly relaxed geometry for a comfy playful ride.
not really a track bike then
they will sell loads of those, I reckon.
-
• #30
@ hoops - they have had them for ages...
-
• #31
They look like bareknuckle frames ? No?
-

to be honest guys, i like the frame and forks in the guise it is in...ie my riding around town and my weekend riding. I have tried it on the velodrome with the same set up just with a lower stem and track bars, a bit slow.Bear in mind that the velodrome where i live is outdoor, and fucking steeply banked(Curitiba,Brasil), so i have to find a solution.
But it is a good bike, i didn't pay that much for the frame as the guys at BLB have been friends since they opened, i managed the bar across the road from them, and it is not as quick a ride as a Bianchi Pista et al. I would say it is possibly a closer replication of a path racer.
Some may like it, some may hate it....its a bike i love it, it stops me driving a car...and keeps me happy! -

Hoops have you gone back in time when you came off your bike?

@ hoops - they have had them for ages...
i rang them on wednesday and they said they were still waiting on a shipment.

• #35
@ mdizzle - you don't have to explain yourself to a fucking forum, ride and be happy. Its a sweet bike...

Kinda, the actual Keirin one cost from £375 to £558, the Kazane frame is simply a rebranded Alien frame.

grrr... not a track bike. not at all.. more like tourer with track ends.
serves a purpose though, it's not like it's going anywhere near a track and you might as well like a comfy relaxed ride.
just upsets me to call it a track bike. That would be a fixie... can we agree that maybe? a bike that is fixed but not track specific. That would make me less grumpy. -

the vast majority of bmx bikes don't go anywhere dirt race courses (bicycle motorcross) but no one points out the logic fail in that... bmx street, park or dirt bikes are a long, long step away from their racing counterparts, about to the same degree as racing track bikes or street track bikes. different geometry, materials, style, setup, everything really.
'fixie' grates on me (and again, many others) just because it's so obnoxious sounding, almost condescending, 'fixed gear/wheel bike' can be a mouthful, what's wrong with 'track bike'?

I agree with Jacqui, it is not a track frame...it is more like a touring frame/path racer...but without mudguard eyelets......it does a job and keeps me happy and out of a car!
-
• #42
But i also agree with hassanr....so i will call it MY BIKE!!!

thats a good way to describe them. i like them. they seem good value and as said above, they will sell loads.

• #44
the wheel base looks way way too long?
-
• #45
the 'classic' wording is so shit, reminds me of cheap knock-off sports clothes with 'authentic' written on them.

BMX has become quite seperate from its roots though, far more than fixed wheels bikes have.
If you can't take it on a track, it isn't a track bike. Using your argument, why not call Unipaks Keirin bikes? Or £79 full suspension MTBs downhill bikes?

this is bullshit. i have a track bike. i don't use it on the track, but it's a track bike.
similarly, if i rode a horse down a motorway, i wouldn't start calling it a car. It's a horse.
oh yeah and 'fixie' is the worse word i've ever heard in my entire life.
I think that what kept the costing down a bit, it easier to produced a straight fork (at lease that what I think).
