  • mate seriously, I know there are lots of hard working dedicated teachers in this country but there are many who don't come in the top 90% of hardest working people. I have done many jobs as well as teaching and I have never come across such a bunch of moaning minnies as state school teachers. practically the only job for life left, virtually impossible to get sacked. guaranteed two wage rises a year (depending on your scale) up until this year and an amazing pension scheme. Schools have many teachers who are totally uninspired and actually dislike teaching yet stay in the job for another 30 years because they are scared to get employment elsewhere and they know a cushy number when they see one. Teachers should be inspiring and so in love with their job they barely notice the stresses that come with it.

  • Can news reporters stop making a point of the fact that Boris & David cut short their holidays... are we supposed to feel sorry for their suffering? or grateful for them sparing the time to help out with the issues of the plebs...?

    Yeah ^ THIS

Fuck, all police leave has been cancelled without exception. I say all MP leave be cancelled until the country's put right. What the fuck are they being paid for otherwise?!

  • No-one granted bail from Croydon today. Including a teenage girl who is on one count of theft from Argos and one count of stealing 2 packets of chewing gum from a newsagents. Shall we get back into the discussions around reasons for the looting.

  • Did Graham burn to death in the Waterloo fire?

I know! Fucking annoying ain't it!?

  • But don't you realise they have sorted it all out and saved the city?

  • OH FFS.. One looter was sentenced to one day in prison and released as he'd spent a day in police cells.. And the bloke who threw a "custard pie" at Murdoch got 4 weeks...

  • But don't you realise they have sorted it all out and saved the city?

    So, this has been resolved?

I read about someone getting £150 fine and probation.

This is a Manchester one I think, and the looter was described as a student who'd stolen 2 T Shirts.

  • I think it's the same person. He was fined £150 and given a lighter sentence because he was starting/going to an interview for an apprenticeship this week?

  • Student David Attoh, 18, from Retreat Place, Hackney, was caught on August 8 in Hackney, with two Burberry t-shirts.

Attoh, who the court heard has completed an ICT B-Tech at Hackney Community College and was due to have an interview for an apprenticeship on Tuesday, admitted theft by finding.

The student, who was fined £150, had been receiving Education Maintenance Allowance (EMA) while completing his B-Tech, but over the summer was supported by his mother, the court heard.

Mr Marks told him: "Don't get in trouble again.

"You have a bright future ahead of you, if you get into trouble again you are going to jeopardise that future."

    .

  • So, this has been resolved?

    No, I was being sarcastic.

Highbury going soft then. As far as I can tell, nobody has walked out of Croydon Magistrates today, including the minors. There'll be a few people noticeable by their absence from work over the next few days as they are all remanded in custody awaiting sentencing in Crown Court.

  • double euphed Rameye. a first?

Didn't you read the bit about me being in the scouts?

  • .

He's already fucked, if he's been fined, that means he now has a criminal record. There goes a lot of future opportunities.

  • I may have remembered this wrong, but in the States you have misdemeanors and felonies, and if guilty of the latter you lose the right to vote, licence a weapon, and a few other things- or did I make that up?
