  • The first mention of rioting in this thread was Post 4264 on Page 86

  • PM "Phoney concerns about human rights" in relation to publication of rioter photos. Hmmmmm.

  • How did progressive taxation come about? Or the breaking up of monopolies? Or foreign aid? If not debates and discussion I'm at a loss.

Oh well, I see, everyone is happy and everything it's going from good to better.

  • I was thinking about this on the way in this morning- what class would you put yourself in Joe?

Son of immigrant parents (with little or no education), have lived in social housing most of my life, still rent, didn't go to university, run my own meeja company... You tell me...
    #meaninglessquestion

  • For someone who rails against the white middle class, he's very, well, white and middle class.

I'm sure you know this, but he's using middle-class as an identifier for Daily Mail reading, home-country living, private (public) education having, toss bags. You have a different definition. Fair enough. These are the things people argue about on the internet. But meh.

    White middle class.

  • PM "Water cannon 24hr notice"

  • PM "Phoney concerns about human rights" in relation to publication of rioter photos. Hmmmmm.

I haven't seen any pictures. But if people are being highlighted for just being at the events, I would be worried. Last thing I would want is some internet hard men coming to my door to give me what I deserve.

In fact, that goes for the looters as well.

We have a state (for now), let's let the state deal with them.

Oh well, I see, everyone is happy and everything it's going from good to better.

    ?

  • White middle class.

You forgot the bleeding heart, liberal bit...

  • White middle class.

What is this? Fun! What am I? Over-educated, unemployed, immigrant, from working-class family.

    Cunt.

  • qwe

  • ?

    ?

  • Funny, I never understand why middle-class is seen as a negative, but working-class is a positive.

  • One side shot the other in the face with plastic bullets, and that put an end to any discussion. That's the way we do.

You know nothing. That's the bottom line.

People who went looting and they think you're just a bunch of weak posh liberal pussies and there's nothing you can do about it. And that's why they will never stop. And posh for them is everyone who doesn't live the road ting.
They don't work, they don't want education, they have no high ambitions - they just want to chillax with the Black Ops and live life of a Premeirship footballer without being one, with no sweat. This is a complex thing - partially given to them by media, entertainment industry, cultural things, racial discrimination.
Frankly, it's you who are detached from reality. This is how it looks to me, judging from what I hear.
It will be very hard to succeed with an outreach program. Of course there are underprivileged people who only need a guidance, good infrastructure and some help to get qualification etc., but many will **see your kindness as a weakness **(this is just a gang mentality).

  • I'm from an immigrant family, third generation now, my father is an academic (now retired) my mother was an art teacher, I have no degree and work for an ISP.

I'd say I'm pretty solidly middle-class, despite my grandmother having all her teeth removed for her 18th birthday (the family clubbed toegther to pay the dentist) so that an infected abscess would not kill her later in life.

  • Aye - and therefore don't complain too hard when some of the poorest in society display exactly the same lack of morality.

Morals? Rich people still pay tax, they can also afford to have people minimise this tax.
It's simple cost cutting not a moralistic issue. If they were paying NO tax, that would of course be different.

  • Tax avoidance vs tax evasion.

Everyone will always avoid tax when they can, and if they can't they will bitch about others doing it... until they can.

  • I actually sit here with people who went looting

are they sitting on your lap?

  • How about those police budget cuts then.. can't cancel staff leave forever.

what like legally tying up all assets in offshore tax havens?

    lol Hippy

  • aghhhhh!

Cool and when you want to spend that money what do you do?

Ah that lovely euphemism - Tax efficient. There are tax laws in this country, the rich and corporations pay fortunes to avoid (and in some cases evade) paying what they should. It's actually approved of too in elevated circles, hence Philip Green's knighthood.

Third generation? Fuck off. You're British. And your grandmother's sixteenth birthday has fuck all to do with you.

    Your class: middle-class wanker!

    Now do me!
