  • One of the most saddening things for me last night was the fact that the Moss Side Powerhouse library and youth centre next to where we play polo whas set on fire, that would have been by people who live in the area, not some marauding looters as in the city centre.

I'd guess those responsible have actually used the centre, if not they'll have brothers, sisters, cousins who have

    :(

  • What does repping endz mean- that to uphold the reputation of your area you had to show that you could riot as well as the next postcode?

Yes but I think it's customary to drop the "g" from repping.

  • Why are they banging on about Manchester, and not Birmingham where 3 people have died and reported shots fired? Have I missed something else that happened in Manchester? (Just got to work so out of date on many things)

  • Is it only me thinking that most of those arrested will be cautioned and send on their way? And given a voucher for a grime cd compilation if they promise to not reoffend withing the next two weeks.

In the UK? Sentencing is jokes in this country. That's why we have what we have on the streets. Even if someone goes to jail, my neighbour will write a nice letter to the judge (as usual) about how sorry they are and how they want to rehabilitate themselves and tings.

What do you suggest? (serious/not having a go)

You can send them to jail for long stretches, but then you need space and money. Also when they come out you will have the same problem.

  • I'm banging on about Manchester because i live here, the media probably because they've got more footage to run of Manchester than Birmingham maybe...?

  • Waits for Clintsmoker to say : No one cares about Birmingham.

  • Probably just the media's prejudice being exposed.

  • Probably different kind of riot. Birmingham more contained by police and media couldn't get in. In Manchester widespread looting.

Isn't endz a colloquialism for gang?

    like howardz endz?

    What I suggest? Punishment.
If law doesn't work then shot them. Why not? If the cannot face the legal punishment they should be hurt. What else do you suggest? Hugging a hoodie?

Fair enough, I meant the media, not us here...

  • dear internet hard men - might i suggest a holiday here... circa summer 1960

  • Isn't endz a colloquialism for gang?

    it means your area

  • Oh, if someone commited violent crime the they shouldn't be allowed out after two or three years. It doesn't make sense. People stab others and then are out on the street three years later. Fuck off! That's why they don't respect the law.

I would recomend the stocks, public humiliation etc . you could combine fruit stalls and stocks.

  • Anything really.

  • If law doesn't work then shot them.

Shoot to kill or just maim? If shoot to maim, should they then be allowed treatment on the NHS? Won't this overstretch the system?

  • Don't shoot to maim as that would cost the country more on the NHS.

  • qwe

You missunderstood me. I said what's left there if they cannot be punished within the existing law system?

We all know that what Cammeron said about a full wrath of law etc. Is just A bullshit for the media. Not much will happen and there will be few custodial sentences.

You see, chavs (and also those hardened adult crimminals) know that there's fuck all authority can do to them.

  • it means your area

Well I guess that posh reporter bint on the bbc last night has arse and elbow issues..

  • she was probably sexing it up so it had something to do with gangs rather than just being a slang term used by young people.

if it meant gangs this would be a very odd song (excluding anyones opinions on hiphop being odd anyways)
