Not at all- the staff will be on a minimum hours contract, and paid by the hour.
Shop shut=not doing their hours=not getting paid.
The company might choose to pay the staff something whilst they rebuild the shop, but I think they probably won't- best chance for the staff to get paid would be working in a different branch during the rebuild
I can understand you don't get paid if you don't do your hours, but if you come in to clean up, you get paid for those hours, surely? By law? Right? Please?

How many Evans branches are there? At least 3 or 4 have been trashed right?
I say piss poor job then. ;]

I would assume so- if it's work then yeah, you should get paid for it.
Cleaning up is work, after all.
I was talking about if the shop was shut and the staff were unable to work there at all.

Mixed ethnicity looters and arsonists: Mindless thugs // Must be poor people lashing out on tory cuts, let's understand why!
Group of white people on the streets (i don't actually know who they are/what they're doing): Vigilantes protecting their turf //Obviously just racist cunts, no need to "seek understanding".
... everyone is full of shit ...

their house/flat? where are you?

This is what you said: "edl/millwall fans is certainly a new twist. i for one i am applauding this vigilante behaviour." I will bet you £100 that there is more on their minds than "protecting the neighbourhood." You are applauding a bunch of racists for their "vigilante behaviour." That's fucked up.
This.
The Turkish guys in Dalston were not roaming London in lynch mobs. They were standing guard on their street.

24hour turkish foodstore near me, next to all the smashed/looted shops on walworth road that got done over yesterday - tonight they had wooden boards up and ten, twelve turkish blokes just sat outside. good to see. i gave them a smile and a nod and considered stopping to give 'em a word of thanks/encouragement.
but i was headed to SE beers and i didn't know it was gonna be so "safey" so i wanted to be prompt as 4 of us were aiming to get there same time and i didn't want someone to be there first nervously guarding their bike for a while. as it turned out, we saw plenty popo and no would-be rioters -

It was reported by the Guardian journalist who's been reporting from hot spots since everything kicked off. Will try and find the link.
