Just a generous guy who wants some money to trickle down.

Would of paid for years of heating the stables

This is why we need the Norwegian model of public tax records

If nothing untoward happened as claimed, he’s paid up for reasons he’s not prepared to explain. Alleged wrong doing difference aside, the Queen’s favourite son did similar. I don’t know about anyone else but I take these honourable men - too honourable in Prince Andrew’s case - at their word.
But does Zahawi not realise, even if his story is believed, it looks opaquely furtive at best? I guess he doesn’t give a shit, will just try to style it out. And from recent events, he’s got a fair chance of pulling that off

I think he has, he thought the plebs would never know and even now it is out, doesn't seem to have much traction in the msm and appears likely blow over unless the media have a change of heart and decide to go after him more dogedly
I viewed him as one of the more competent ministers despite his dodgy expense claims but this is a massive piss take

Sunak issued with a fixed penalty notice after his Instagram video yesterday.
Only the second ever PM to be convicted of a criminal offence whilst in office.

It is unacceptable to comment on appearance but NZ has a very ‘studious Andrew Tate’ energy here.
And if he doesn’t, I’d lay my own paid in full tax return that he’d, as a minimum, employ a bit of negging

I'm not sure i could give a flying fuck about someone being pinged for not wearing a seatbelt.
Being let off with a paltry 30% fine by HMRC for blatant fraud and avoidance, on the other hand...

And his second offence too.

Norwegian model of public tax records
Does this mean employers check your previous earnings for salary negotiation?
And do people have tinder plug-ins so you can do benchmarking between potential dates?
-
• #80437
There was a time where a PM being guilty of a criminal offence would be a resigning matter, and it wasn't that long ago.
Zahawi should've resigned once it was clear that he was lying, which was back in August. That he's clung on and is trying to ride it out is emblematic of this corrupt, venal, self-serving shower of cunts that we have in government currently.

One of the quirks of the system is that you are notified if somebody reads your record and told who it is.
-

Does this mean employers check your previous earnings for salary negotiation?
Maybe. You can see who has looked at your tax record. For famous folk that is usually a bunch of journalists. You can hide a check by hiring a private detective to enquire in your behalf but the enquiry is still logged
You can of course check the earnings of the rest of your team if you want to use that to negotiate

Does this mean employers check your previous earnings for salary negotiation?
Isn't that one of the things that will be confirmed in a reference anyway? Most of my employers will confirm role, salary and if I was sacked or not but that's about it.
-
• #80441
I think it's unusual to confirm salary nowadays, you're basically giving your competitors free information
Your P45 might give the game away though

Your P45 might give the game away though
Not really, as it shows net salary, and pension contributions may or may not be significant.
-
• #80443
Don’t forget cycle to work schemes etc….
My company would never give a salary in a reference.
It’s also now not if your sacked it’s were you subject to disciplinary procedures when you left. That way you pick up if someone was shown the evidence and handed a pen and blank sheet of paper and asked if they want to resign -
• #80444
I have never been offered one of those, but you can (theoretically at least) put 100% into pension.
-
• #80445
You can't put 100% into your pension. You always have to be paid at least national minimum wage.
-
• #80446
I think we're on a tangent to a tangent here, but if this were true, you would be unable to pay a penny into a pension if you were paid minimum wage...
...but then I did try to contribute 100% briefly near end of tax year, my employer did cap it at somewhere around minimum wage, and I failed to get any useful explanation from payroll/benefits.
Would be interested if you could point me to any definitive info on this limit, as I can't find any.
-
• #80447
So what happens for minimum wage earners? Pension is on top of that??
-
• #80448
It has to be. Although doubt many minimum wage jobs come with pensions.
-
• #80449
I’m not totally up on it but thought you were auto enrolled now over a certain age, ie it was a legal requirement of employers?
-
• #80450
If they’re permanent contacts, they should by law have a workplace pension scheme.
Why would you pay a 30% penalty on paying your taxes when all owed taxes have been filed?
