  • Braverman was around two rants away from banning the moon, so I think this is good news on balance.

  • Britain had a really strong nuclear program and a couple of generations of decent scientists. Thatcher fucked the nuclear industry. A lot of the scientists left or where then tasked with commercial positions in private companies.

Spent nuclear fuel is reusable to certain degrees. But yeah it ultimately it has to be kept somewhere.

I grew up around a fair amount of nuclear physicists, they were all pretty green and focussed on replacing fossil fuels.

  • Chief whip has now resigned.

    Edit - probably related to this;

  • Un-resigned.

I will never get how the 'working culture' of government (or specifically the Commons I guess) permits stuff that would just be totally beyond the pale in most jobs. Shouting at each other, booing while other people are talking, not turning up, lying over and over again, toxic drinking culture etc. Ok so there may be complaints about the 'manhandling' but they will probably go nowhere/ get played down. In most jobs that would be a total wtf.

  • It's the only job I can think of that allows you to have another main job you do at the same time.
Eg Paul Beresford who works as a dentist and claims his surgery as a second home on expenses.

  • Been a while since I was at school though, so accept things may have changed.

  • Not that much manhandling and shouting matches these days in mainstream schools as I understand it. At least not from the 'workers' (schoolchildren excluded).

  • Maybe should be in WTF thread, but dear oh dear...Environment protesters complaining about the heating being turned off where they are protesting. And not being provided with toilet facilities or allowed food deliveries. My irony meter seems to have broken.

  • Lots of ****ish comments but yes, that's a fail of the protest organizers.

You will have to assume adverse tactics from the other side.

  • The real irony is that super glue is very easily removed using petrol.

  • With or without a lighter?

  • Truss to give statement in Downing St at 1:30

  • Pippa Crear says Truss is about to resign.

  • Gone. New PM in a week

  • Fuckity bye.

  • Fuckity bye.

Truss: "I have therefore spoken to His Majesty the King..."

Charles: "So you've come back again? Dear oh dear."

  • Lol what a joke of government. Time for a general election.

  • They are going to try to steady things until the next GE and a lot of people will have forgotten, like they did with all Boris' crap.

Don't see them get a massive majority though as the hike in interest rates won't reverse any time soon...

  • Fabricant (and his rug) for PM!

  • It's time for Nadine.

  • I'm wet for William Wragg. Hang on...

  • If Nadine gets in do we all get a copy of one of her romantic novels?

  • Mordant for Mordaunt.

  • To burn for heat?
