POTENTIAL CIVIL UNREST ACTIVITY IN VICTORIA

We have received notification from the Met Police that House of Fraser on Victoria St has been instructed to close for business with immediate effect and police are currently positioned outside, as it is expected to be targeted later this afternoon.

We will keep you updated on further developments, but in the meantime we would advise staff to only make trips to and from the building when absolutely necessary.

We are constantly monitoring the situation and a further communication will be circulated to BG at approximately 5.00pm.

Surrey Quays - There was, according to this page, some looting on Lower Road earlier, and some shops (Curry's, mobile phone shops, JD Sports) were boarded up in the shopping centre.

And I think they're absolutely fucked up and need to be addressed. Even in the heat of the moment those types of thoughts really need to be called out for what they are. Fucked. Up.

Why cannot I be opposed to people being horrible and inflammatory and disgusting, and still be opposed to the looters/rioters? It's not one or the other. I think it's fucking shameful. I don't support people calling for them to be shot on the spot and talking about removing their political rights.

No it doesn't seem so outlandish to have your views. I think what people are saying is let's see some tough policing and that may include the use of violence and bullets if all else fails. last night it failed. let's see what happens tonight. Few people wish to see people gunned down in this country but they would like to see the troublemakers stopped. unfortunately that might involve extreme violence as the perpetrators are frightened of nothing and respect nobody. It hardly seems wrong for people to choose the rioters getting hurt over themselves or their property.
