Similarly infuriating to see her wading in on the Covid briefings. Get a science journalist to ask the questions!
Not just that - most of them (Peston is another guilty here, among others) try to 'ask' so many things in their allotted question that it is easy for the politicians to dodge and obfuscate. Ask simple, limited questions and you might get an answer worth printing / broadcasting.
(I do realise they aren't actually asking anything most of the time, just phrasing an opinion piece as a question - EDIT - neu puts it better)

SMIDSY defence alive and well

So many things wrong with this case, an illegal car, cutting the corner, but no prison. If he done the same on a bicycle with out a front brake and killed a pedestrian he’d be in prison for 18months.

Also, judge throwing out every bit of his ludicrous defence and still not giving him a day's bird.

I've seen the sun blinding defense before. Why that even has legs I don't know. Even if it's true then, they chose to make a manoeuvre while blinded. Is that better than not paying attention in the first place?

Totally! Every time I drive, if my vision is in any way compromised I think about my responsibility to account for it / slow down. If I hit someone it’ll be nobodies fault but my own.

This is the lawyer he employed--'Mr Technicality':
https://mr-technicality.co.uk/
It seems that he's part of this firm--they seem to have personalised web-sites for their lawyers (or maybe it's just him and he has one):
https://www.roadtrafficexpert.com/
He seems like a Scottish copycat of this guy, 'Mr Loophole'--both called Freeman:

Also, judge throwing out every bit of his ludicrous defence and still not giving him a day's bird.
Looks as if there might have been technicalities in play ...
This is the site:
These junctions (which you obviously mostly find in the countryside) are problematic in that they enable much faster turns into them than at 90-degree (or thereabouts) junctions.
A terrible case. RIP Gwyn Bailey.

Oh yeah I've had a few near head-ons with land rover's going way too fast round those in Hertfordshire.

It's going to be some shitty publicity campaign, isn't it?
I've not heard much from David Blaine recently. Or Mark Francois for that matter... -

Or Mark Francois for that matter...
Didn't he go quiet about the time that it was reported that a Tory MP is a rapist?
-

it was reported that a another Tory MP is a rapist?
Fixed that for you.

This is wild. And wonderful. This was peak "what big problem in science" when I started lablife in 1996.

I know! I've shared it with a couple of people and have been met with indifference. maybe nucleotide sequence to protein sequence to shape is niche science boners.

I admit I don't understand much of it but know enough to know it's cool and the kind of thing people have been trying to do for quite a while.

I am blown away by it. Absolutely amazing achievement and potential.

Suspected terror attack in Trier

Pretty close to me, in a normal year I'd have been there quite a few times.

I find this sort of attack so unbelievably upsetting (and depressing). As if there weren't already enough deaths and injuries from road traffic incidents.
She isn't expressing her opinion or her understanding of economics, she's editorialising to her audience as she sees it. She would say the same regardless of her knowledge of economics. All of her content is the same facile magazine politics.
