It is a small bunch of the very worst, still dangerous but hopefully them showing their true (lack of) colours for all to see will turn more people away from them than a pitched battle spun the wrong way would've done if there was much of an actual protest to protest against.

Given that he's supposedly a smart guy he should have worked out that if you spend years writing opinion pieces that are liberally sprinkled with dog whistle racism it will come back to bite you.
