More on Windrush stuff:
Theresa May is the one carrying the can for the 'hostile environment'.

All Labours fault, apparently.
Or not, as stated afterwards.
Papers going with option #1.

horrific story on the news of a man who couldn't prove his residency status, threatened with deportation, lost his job, access to social care, all the things available to any other british citizen - he's now been found dead on the streets.
this is the end game for tories, isn't it? as far as they're concerned, it's job done. they don't like black people, and i suspect anyone that votes for these shits don't like black people either.

Here's a round-up of the Windrush-related politics today:

Always good to read news of the lovely Jeremy Hunt.

Whoops!
I know I'm wasting my time and energy thinking about this but it still baffles me that anybody can vote for these fucking people. Racist liars lacking even the slightest interest in any form of public service.

Horrendous. They've said "oh it's fine we'll make it all good" or similar - how are they going to make that good?
I presume this is the same case @greenhell posted (I really hope there aren't two).

The lead story on BBC News right now is Dale Winton dying. Just saying.
I'm sad about national treasure Dale but the government just suffered two big Brexit losses in the Lords too...

It was interesting watching Question Time clips on the BBC.
Corbyn calls May racist
She replies with "but I did this race relation act" with points for her.Yay...

Have we had the Lyca Mobile story yet? The French police have been investigating money laundering involving them, asked for help to raid their offices, yet the British authorities refused. Turns out Lyca Mobile have donated £1.5 m to the Tories. Buzzfeed have been covering this, turned out this amazing quote.

There was also a story a while ago about LycaMobile donating free office space to the DePfeffel Mayoral campaign.
-
• #51971
Wasn't there also a story about bags of money being moved around East London without any real explanation as to why?

That’s what led to the French investigation.

He added that after the Brexit vote, people felt able to be compassionate because countries that could control their borders were able to be more generous.
“I think we can see in the national conversation that we have had about the Windrush generation that people are so glad that this country has had a tradition of welcoming people from abroad."
So glad that this country has had a tradition of welcoming people from abroad that they specifically voted to stop it from happening any more.
The man is a turd.
This story really saddens me, where my Nan lived in New Cross there was a Jamaican family who had come over in 60s, they had been neighbours for 10 years and they treated my Nan and my mum and me as family practically grew up with their kids during school holidays. Probably where I got my love of curry goat/Stout and reggae from, used to love hanging out with 'Granddad' Patrick and 'Granma' June and looked up to their eldest son Des as a big brother. We lost contact many moons ago but it's upsetting to think they might be mixed up in all of this crap. Apart from having hot sauce on a roast they are as British as I'am.
