^^really? I live up the road from there. Haven't participated in the world for a couple of days and this is all lost on me.
It's just breaking on sky news and a few comments on twitter. Seems to be small scale and police are there. Worrying tho (I used to work round the corner)

Pah, bollocks to Cameron's 'big society'
I thought that smashing a few windows and legging it was part of the Bullingdon Club's initiation ceremony?

I wonder why these peeps never wander down to Knightsbridge for a spot of the old ultraviolence. There's a Krispy Kreme stand in Harrods. Just sayin'

The police would have them in a bleeding heap by the time they got to Marble Arch.

Holy shit Daveypants. What news can you give us? Sounds more fluid than last night's riots.
I'm home now so Paul Lewis' twitter feed is probably the best bet. What I saw was hundreds and hundred of children spread across a very large area (by the sounds of it a much larger spread than last night rather than two intense pockets) just smashing and causing trouble. Not severe like Tottenham – nothing on fire so far, but just so so many kids. Loads of police presence but the crowds are just slipping away from them and moving on. Heard from friends who've had people smashing houses and cars in their (residential) street and threatening rape too...

There are LS gang members gathering on my high road. Looks like they're off somewhere (shopping perhaps?).

Friend in brixton just posted "20 kids just attacked a police car right in front of us in brixton. London is going mental."

Hmm. Ok. Apparently some people have broken into Dalson Kingsland shopping center. Doesn't sound too major though.

Joking aside ...
I thought that smashing a few windows and legging it was part of the Bullingdon Club's initiation ceremony?
Yes, but they paid for the damage they caused afterwards.
This is kind of like dawn of the dead: civilisation ends at the hand of zombies and yet they still go to the shopping mall.
Humans just love "stuff".
