Might be old news for London but it's good to see the local plod taking it a little more serious.

Naked Nicky Cambell chases away bike thieves.
"Mr Campbell told listeners the man escaped empty-handed after he sped from his house.
The broadcaster said he was so "**pumped up**" by what was happening that he just wanted to "**get him**".
Euww.

"I would have gone into that garden and jumped on top of him stark naked"

To be honest if someone hasn't called for the re-introduction of hanging by the tenth comment I usually stop reading.
Right on queue, 'Jez P' from Leicester.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2011/may/13/bbc-palestine-lyric-mic-righteous
The corporation explained its decision in a statement: "All BBC programmes have a responsibility to be impartial when dealing with controversial subjects and an edit was made to Mic Righteous' freestyle to ensure that impartiality was maintained."
Since when were songs treated as news items? When did the BBC decide that artists have to be "impartial"?
-
• #2963
The BBC is itself impartial. It sticks its feather in no cap. As much as a song isn't 'news' in the conventional sense, neither is wearing a declamatory t-shirt of any description when interviewed for the BBC if you wished to, as the BBC would equally prevent that.

Missing category - 'make a complaint against Jeremy Clarkson/Andrew Neil/Robert Peston's voice'...
-
• #2966
Would the BBC play this? Would they have played it in the 60s?
-
• #2967
Impartiality is not the same as censorship. In fact it is the very opposite.
-
• #2968
The BBC is at the mercy of the 'disgusted of Tunbridge Wells' mob more so than ever I think though, which muzzles it too much.
-
• #2969
No, the cowards and self-serving money-grubbing lickspittles who run the BBC do not have the integrity to stand up to the fascist pro-zionist extremist minority who threaten and despise anything resembling free speach when it comes to the criminal state they defend. Not one of those bastards is fit to hold any public office.

Tad over-the-top but basically correct.
The BBC's record when it comes to 'impartial' coverage of Palestine is absolutely shocking to be fair.

I think they do ok most of the time. THey get barrages of complaints from the zionists whenever palestine is shown in a positive light/or as suffering.
The whole palestine issue is tiny and inconsequential though, compared to the amount of massive world events that british TV news totally ignores, BBC are much worse at this than channel 4. Jon Snow or Krishnan Guru Murphy seem to occasionally dig out stories not covered by the other terrestrial channels, or probe into important stuff a little deeper.
