Besides the Thames Barrier is only needed because the UK is tilting (England sinking Scotland being lifted out of the sea). Its concrete proof that the magical sky wizard is a Scotsman.

Or, proof that we are encouraging Salmond to secede, at which point we'll use Hadrian's wall as the dotted line along which to saw* thus allowing England to Rise Again.
*Some form of nuclear saw may be needed.

Nope it's the magic sky wizard saying:
"ye sassenachs ur a baw bags"
-

Hadrian's Wall was a barrier to stop the rising flood entering Scotland.

This is a projection of where the flood waters would have reached without the Thames barrier last night/this morning:
are you sure they weren't just trying to do a fill colour action in mspaint to change the hue of the thames.

*More than 15m adults in Britain have poor numeracy - the equivalent of a G or below at GCSE maths
Almost three times as many UK adults (15.1m) have poor numeracy - the equivalent of a G or below at GCSE maths - than with poor literacy skills, according to the government's Skills for Life survey.
*Yes, poor literacy skills can be a bugger.

The International Atomic Energy Agency said the cobalt has an activity of 3,000 curries, or Category 1, meaning "it would probably be fatal to be close to this amount of unshielded radioactive material for a period in the range of a few minutes to an hour."

http://www.channel4.com/news/university-of-london-student-protest-ban-senate-house-occupy
I am sure some of you are students of the University of London, but I don't know how many of you might have been to any of these protests or meetings prior to each event. I was dragged into a meeting the night before the strikes on 3 Dec. Despite both being a student and a staff of 2 different universities, my one and only thought was I don't want to get involved. There are clearly trouble makers who just want to cause troubles rather than having peaceful protest / strikes etc. Now seeing messages flooded from peers on my FB page, my thought is confirmed... It's sad time, but surely there are better ways to deal with these issues than kicking and punching?
