I find a lot of stuff from a certain era really fascinating, I think it has to do with being alive but too young and too far removed (geographically, culturally) from the political social world that young people of the time were concerned with. but once I was old enough to be more aware, seeing little glimpses of that earlier time and the echoes of it. the earliest political issue I really remember being a thing amongst my peers (rather than something filtered through the BBC News at home) was the CJB.

It was an exciting time. Social/political/musical world completely intertwined.
Bit different now, unfortunately. The wrong side won.. -

That article doesn't tell the complete truth.
No one apart from the owner is closing it down.
It hasn't been making any money for quite a while so the owner decided to sell the building for around the 4m mark a few months ago.
A new restaurant will most probably open on the same site.

Army murderer given just 10 year minimum sentence. Probably because he was some sort of 'hero' under a lot of pressure when he cold-bloodedly executed an injured man lying on the ground.

He should've just driven over the top of them whilst texting. Would've got 6 month suspended sentence and £300 fine.

This is a projection of where the flood waters would have reached without the Thames barrier last night/this morning:
That was interesting.
