Oh... Let's give a Knighthood to rich people because they do what is morally right and pay full tax on their earnings!

Have a minor say in who enters the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 2014. KISS and Nirvana neck and neck, then Deep Purple followed by Yes in this poll.

^^ Meh, two years of less and less cars being sold, eventually it's going to go up, it'll take more than 2 months to prove it's more than just a blip (sales are still much lower than two years ago)... Not to mention autumn is when cars sales tend to go up.

The next time you hear some mouthbreather saying 'Boris - what a ledge! He should be PM', please punch them in the face until they die.
In fact, just do it to anyone who uses the word 'ledge'.

From the BBC feed. Johnson just came out with this.
CYCLIST DEATHS
0940: "I think headphones are an absolute scourge", Boris Johnson told BBC London 94.9, adding both cyclists and pedestrians need to be aware of the traffic.
He said he would "not be against a ban on cyclists wearing headphones". -

The shit I've seen that man pull in accident blackspots on his bike with his stupid helmet perched dangerously on the back of his noggin. He's clueless about what's causing the danger out there. His head's so far up his arse. This is just a subject close to our hearts - he's like this about everything from public transport to overseas trade and planning permits. Imagine working with him on a daily basis!
That feed is happening whilst he's on the Vanessa Feltz show. The perfect fucking storm. Expect epic wrongness in the next half hour.

more diversionary, victim blaming bullshit to draw attention away from his own culpability. is anyone surprised by this cunts utterances any more?

Not since he got voted because of his plan for the double decker bus and hipster haircut.

I'm not sure that's fair Ordinata / greenhell - he said he 'would not be against' a ban on cyclists wearing headphones.
I can't see it happening, but can't see it as victim blaming though - it's just good sense, like not wearing dark glasses when riding at night.
These guys aren't victims yet, but they are massively increasing the odds that they will become one. No rearview mirrors on a bike, your hearing is a massive aid to being aware of non line of site traffic. -
• #27391
Or maybe, you know, turning your head, that might aid you to being aware of non line of sight traffic.
-
• #27392
This. If you can't hear traffic you're more likely to use your vision - which is infinitely better anyway. Ask Ed.

Simon, my post was a tweet by the Beeb. Don't shoot deputy!

Boris is such a plumb it is now unfair to post links to what he's said.

.....which of course we all do. I mean I wouldn't dream of riding without shoulder checking four times a second to be aware of when something is coming up behind me at speed and therefore likely to overtake.
Then again, as I do like the look so much, I usually ride with a pirate eyepatch on one eye. A policeman did tick me off for this once, but I pointed out he was blaming the victim and should instead ensure that all drivers should have advanced anti-collision radar fitted to their cars and lasers to project their arrival onto the road ahead of me instead as it was none of my responsibility.
Tongue in cheek obv. But I'm a cyclist and a high mileage driver and my responsibility is to exercise the greatest care in both modes.
Hate over-legislation, and usually ride without a helmet (the roads are pretty quiet out here) but voluntarily restricting my ability to know what's going on around me seems to be all flavours of stoopid.

What's the difference between wearing your headphone on a bicycle and listening to loud music in a car?

Screaming or yawning?
What are you basing his cunthood on?
Is it just his drug problem and incompetence at his job? Because I don't think those alone make someone a terrible person. Even his hypocritical preaching about drugs could in fact be a warning based on personal experience, which could be seen as sincerity.
