what do you guys think of London going Dutch/NewYork with these proposed highway's

I quite like the cycle lift thing in terms of it looks like a fun gadget, I imagine it would be swiftly vandelised in Londons famous London though. Or, possibly more likely, cars would park next to it rendering it useless.
I also quite like the idea of cycling along the Thames, but that might get quite interesting when a boat goes past.

the river thing i could imagine would be a success i think, especially during the summer time have to agree on the lift thing too, if it were to happen i cant imagine it being used for all the right things

Whats your opinion on that Ed?

Very much similar to everyone (I hope), a personal choice upon his daughter rather.

Bike lifts? Bike lifts?
gives up on the human race
-
• #26063
Get the lift, save yourself for the race down.
-
• #26064
Fucksake... bike lifts! How about a giant billboard saying HTFU?
-
• #26065
Seem like a good idea to me, I hate riding up stuff. Also most cyclists are the casual kind who would probably ride more if there weren't the odd climb in there way.
-
• #26066
Nah. Inventions like that foster the desire among humans not to have to do anything that requires any real effort. Our brains and bodies will atrophy as we begin to rely entirely on automated technology to live our lives for us.
-
• #26067
It's more likely to get half arsed cyclists out and about, who will then get fitter and maybe start having a go at the hill under there own power. I'm guessing a lot of the people who cycle loads already will use it for a novelty and then maybe when drunk or lazy occasionally, but mostly leave it be.
-
• #26068
There are no hills in London that warrant that. If you're put off cycling because of a small hill, then you'll find other excuses not to ride, even once a lift is installed. HTFU, London.

Atrophy! Atrophy I tell you!

Let the lazy cycle too.

If we made bikes with little engines, it'd be easier to travel from A to B. Actually, we could add another two wheels, then we wouldn't have to balance. A roof could keep us dry, too. Why not have a radio? And some heated seats, too?
I'm telling you, this idea could go far.

• #26072
i do think the lifts are for the average cyclist not for us guys who ride more regularly you could see it was an elderly man using tbf
who is currently in permanent atrophy mode

National service!
http://www.publications.parliament.uk/pa/bills/cbill/2013-2014/0032/cbill_2013-20140032_en_2.htm#l1g1"...(2)Regulations shall also provide that the scheme shall include—
(a)a residential element, requiring that participants live away from home;
and ...."Mixed halls where every resident is away from mum and dad for the first time in their lives. Imagine what a shag fest that would be. I mean, not like uni where the middle class gets it on with each other, but an orgy for everyone!

haha... the atrophy thing being old..
pun fail
names couldn't be more original if we tried
for the record - I am not responsible for this.
'solar-glare' assessments are: a) not intended to take temp into account and b) total bullshit.
The council used it's powers to over-rule any rights of light claims from the neighbours, so it was a high-profile case. Then this - pretty funny for us Light Warriors...
