  • I love the way how you post something in this thread and people want to start questioning your psyche or moral outlook. I didn't ask for a debate or psychoanalysis. I just put forward my point of view of what I think should happen with these people. I don't give a flying fuck what others think of that view

Wow what a free spirited radical you are.

If you didnt want a response to your post why post it? You're clearly enjoying causing a bit of a stir. My feeling is you are angry about something, and are using this thread to vent your frustration. I have behaved in the same way myself on occasion, so am noone to judge. I hope it works out ok for you, whatever it is. :)

  • Average cost per year per prisoner is ~£40,000.

I would imagine that this pair will be more expensive as they'll need to be segregated from the rest of the population, so call it £60,000/year.

60 years worth of bird between them, so £3,600,000 to incarcerate them.

    That's quite a lot.

Seems a shame that we pay all that money just to keep people in a cell, I would suggest that we would be better off as a whole society if we could try to reduce that cost, and create some value.

The 'hospital area' approved for Anders Brevik. Was reported to cost 30,000 nok a day (£3k).

Not morally correct by any means. But if one of the arresting officers, had accidently, on purpose, shot him. That'd be a load of funds saved for something more useful.....

    .....more tunnels probably.

  • Why don't they have prisoners doing something worthwhile? Like put the whole lot on treadmills to power some 'leccy or something like that?

Seems like a lot of wasted time and money to keep some of them.

  • Like a slave camp you mean?

  • Nothing like a slave camp. These people had their freedom and fucked it up. Slaves on the other hand have no say in the matter.

  • The treatment of criminals in a humane manner, however horrendous their crimes, proves the fundamental point that we are not like them. Any desire for violent or degrading retribution lowers us to their level. The strongest way of asserting that their behaviour is unacceptable to us, is to behave in the opposite way.

These people are the product of our society, they are our problem to deal with.

Its not the desire for violent or degrading retribution the lowers us to their level, its the acting out of the desire. The desire is human nature and overcoming that desire is humans rising above.

  • tho if I was being burgled I'd still strip naked, oil myself up and go on the attack.

But that's more of an R&R thing really.

  • Good point. What makes us human is the ability to recognise and supress our more base urges, not to act on blind impulse.

  • Lol, ninja second post there, dst. I meant good point about humans, not about your oil fetish.

You're right of course. I apply this thinking to parenting. My kids are a result of my parenting. So the blame and punishment thing is somewhat injust. I should guide them, and set a good example.

Lifes complex though. Sometimes my kids are simply little bastards, and I would'nt have lost sleep worrying about the moral implications if Brevik had been killed during arrest.

  • What did Abbas-- hardly a radical--- say just last week? "Not a single Jew will be tolerated to live in Palestine".

    Out of context, and misquoted!

Abbas was talking about removing "Israeli" settlers and soldiers from the occupied territories.

  • The question I would ask here is what good could Brevik do if he works through his actions, motivations, beliefs and so on whilst in prison and comes to the conclusion that his actions were wrong, and then decides to try to atone for his them?

Could he become a positive force in terms of combating right wing extremism?

Of course, that's all conjecture, with no small amount of yoghurt weaving thrown in, but he'll never have the chance to do this, and Norway/the world would never be able to benefit from it if one of the arresting officers had shot him in the head during his apprehension.

Also he is unlikely to be able to think through his actions etc if MikeC is violating him with some form of anal dibber.

The disturbing visual effect of naked man, is a weapon.

Had series of weird noises downstairs once. The missus woke me up worried we had a burglar. I stormed downstairs naked.

    No one there.

Mrs Smallfurry was kinda shocked that I didnt chuck some clothes on.

I said if I'd been more awake, I would chucked on her smallest silk nighty. To cause extra disturbance in the mind of the burgular.

Oil is a nice touch though...

  • =keep a bucket of oil on the nightstand in future for reasons of "home defence"?

  • do you not feel more vulnerable without clothes on?

I'll admitt to having been upset, and hurt, by what happened that day. But my motivation isnt one of revenge. Just a practical thought.

He's busy righting down his fucked up political veiws AFAIK. I cant imagine him ever being of use to society.

True enough, but "eagerly awaiting it", when "it" involves torture and death by a dildo up the arse, suggests someone who has a long way to go to come to terms with his own sexual proclivities.

  • do you not feel more vulnerable without clothes on?

    Nope.

    Perfectly comfortable.

.....I feel if this dicussion continues Dammit, and TW2, will never share a mountian hut with me again...

It's quite possible that he will never change, and that the best thing to do for the good of society is to keep him seperated from said society.

Shooting him would have been easy, giving him the chance to redeem himself (even if he never does) is very, very hard.

I greatly admire the fact that everyone involved in his capture etc made the harder choice.

  • ^^ comfortable - in normal situations, yes.
but when facing a potentially armed and aggressive stranger? not so much.

I was thinking that we could get them mining on WoW then sell the gold for real cash money.

I honestly dont think my nudity would be on my mind.

  • What do you do if you are in a society that can't afford humaine incarceration without say, closing down a school?
