Its the same youths that are always there.
Gotta wonder how much media hype can stir things up for the listeners then. They just highlighted that there's a balaclava wearing girl with a Pit Bull there, which is a strange thing to focus the report upon between commentators.
I hope it doesn't kick off, will find out over breakfast.

Maybe he's coming back because he's the head of the Government and there's just been a terrible incident on the streets of the capital that's threatening to kick-off a nasty chain reaction. Maybe it's because that's what we pay him for. Just a thought?
He's coming back because COBR has been convened. It's not a stunt, it's standard procedure.

itv news is dead
just saying what i saw on the news as i was eating my tea. the level of speculation with 24 hr news is ridiculous. Was talking to my mum about this she hates rolling news, as she says they know nothing and just create more chaos.
this episode has highlighted to me what she meant.

Just passed the scene, saw media photographer laying down flowers so he could take a picture of them. Slight news manipulation, smacks of Damien Day's 'child's teddy bear'.
Always baffled me that soldiers just walk around there openly. Really easy targets. A hand grenade and a moped when 20 of them are out running and there'd be a big body count. They've probably brought in a 'no uniforms outside of barracks' rule already.

Soldiers as targets because they are wearing uniforms... Nuns and priests targets since they are wearing their habits.. Jews targets since they are wearing kipot or hats. Women target since their skirts are too short.. Men targets since they look...
Should they all wear kaftans and hijabs? -

Glad you said it EdwardZ

sad day if soldiers can't walk around their own country in uniform without being considered easy targets

How long is it before we have some kind of rioting again? Things seem to be on tender hooks than they were in 2011.

Should they all wear kaftans and hijabs?Put it this way, my brother's a riot cop in Belfast - every day he leaves the house at a different time, checks his car for bombs, uses a different route to work, never puts his uniform on until he gets to work. Even then, he had to leave his home permanently with an hour's notice because he had been discovered and was at risk. All because he's a high value target to some murderous loons, like any British soldier in NI, Afghanistan or Woolwich is. I move to Woolwich and it looks like a candy shop for terrorists.
Don't make it easy for them. It's common fucking sense.

This is a bit like confusing paediatricians with paedophiles.
-
• #23173
Are you joking? There's a bit of difference between Belfast and London.
So what about a policeman on duty? Just because he's on duty it doesn't mean he's armed and easily able to defend himself?
What would have happened if that had been a policeman yesterday ran down and murdered?
