An elderly couple's car "plunges" over the edge of a "multi-storey" car park, but miraculously the couple escape with only minor injuries.

Quite a promising tale, until you click on the link and see the picture, and find out that the car in fact only fell 7 feet, from the first floor to the ground.

And frustratingly it was the "car" that plunged. All on it's own. Nothing to do with it's occupants or anything that they might or might not have done...

These sentiant cars are dangerous I tell you, and people should be stopped from using them. All Kia Ceed's should be taken off of the road until we understand how this one went rogue.

Yeah, I saw that- I'd naturally take the same lane as the car rather than the little lane on the side, no doubt leading to much honking and shouts of "get in your farking lane you Kant!"

I saw that, but it looked to me that bikes have a clear run all the way round and the cars have to give way. Still crap though.

I hardly ever have to stop on a roundabout when I use the segregated cycle lanes in the Netherlands, it's only peds that you need to let through and as the cycle lane is about 3 metres wide that's hardly an issue. Cars always have to give way on a roundabout to both cyclists and peds. Most vulnerable form of transports has the highest priority. I really fail to see why that's a mega fail.

That principle doesn't apply here, so crossing the streams remains risky.

How on earth will cyclists gain experience of sharing the road with other traffic when you are separated from it ?

I suspect it would be the other way round here (whatever the intention) with cars blasting straight through and everyone else having to wait.

A lot of drivers in the UK don't really like stopping at zebra crossings. I can only imagine this being even worse on roundabouts.

Peds nowadays wait for the driver to stop at the crossing opposite to crossing without needing to wait for the car to stop.

You still need to slow down and check to make sure they see you.

Sorry if a reep but I didn't see it in a quick search. Unreal video of motorcycle plowing through two cyclists in California. Supposedly one of them is from England. This is alarming stuff.
