    @tweetsfrom1965

  • " improvised shotgun "

  • that dole woman is claiming off the state and owns a horse and is taking flying lessons
nurse holiday can tell you how much flying lessons cost

are we paying her too much money

    i mean i don't own a horse

This could be a lot of spin. Some people struggle to make ends meet on what others can be pretty cushy on. One big cost a lot of people have is Alcohol & Cigarettes. Plenty of the people on the dole drink & smoke, plenty of them eat out or go to things with an admission price every so often. If you never spent on all this stuff, you could feasibly save enough to maintain a large pet and a flying lesson every now and again. I just looked on ebay and they only cost about £50

If you reduced the amount of money available through JSA/Income support it would crush those who find it more difficult. Also, should people not be allowed a little extra for pleasure if they are thrifty enough?

  • Where do you fly nurse holiday? I want to start soon but Biggin hill is well expensive

Stapleford in Essex. Not sure if it's any cheaper than Biggin Hill. Andrewsfield near Standsted is much cheaper but there's no hard and I imagine getting to Stansted will lop off a huge amount of the savings.

  • Bailed runner etc.

    LOL £50. Guess again.

  • £50.50?

  • There is nothing thrifty about having 11 kids.

  • I don't smoke so I can afford to feed 11 kids.

  • Said nobody.

    EVER

  • There is nothing thrifty about having 11 kids.

    This.

  • There is nothing thrifty about having 11 kids.

    Economies of scale innit ...

  • there is also no law against it (although we're no longer living in times where most kids would die early, hence having more as a precaution) - the council have a duty of care to move her, and compared to the money being spent on another jobless woman about to be moved into a palatial home at our expense, a drop in the ocean

  • Council do have a duty of care, that's right. And I am not a Tory, but this sort of thing does perplex me. I work, so each commitment I enter into has to be weighed up, and that includes having another child (I have three, so no more, but hypothetically speaking). I have to do that, so why should someone who is living on benefits, that is my tax, not have to make the same decisions? We pay benefits based on someone's needs, but I think there should be a maximum - why is it right that there needs can keep on being met as they expand (to 11 fucking kids for fuck's sake!), and continue to be met indefinitely, whereas mine can only be met up to a point - i.e the limits of my paypacket?

I would love to hear someone explain why?

  • I mean, fuck me, I am already busy supporting a handful of failing banks and thousands of overfed bankers with second and third homes in Europe. I do not have the financial capacity left for 11 kids, a horse and fucking flying lessons.

    I know >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Rant thread.

  • jobless and pregnant woman I hasten to add - a jobless woman who at 31 has never held a full time job, and is married to a man who is also unemployed (after a short stint in armed forces)

    where is your ire now?

  • agreed, there perhaps should be a point at which the benefits system says enough, if you have any more kids, we won't pay. But she's already past that point by a long way - and who decides how many is enough?

But you can afford an interventionist foreign policy?

The guardian had a great infographic for the 2011 Budget but I haven't found an equivalent using up-to-date data.

  • the governement should have invested in giving her husband the snip about 9 kids ago
a stitch in time saves 9 as they say

  • there were about 8 dads weren't there.

they should run an ovary armistice in exchange for flying lessons. or maybe free flying lessons with every sterilisation campaign.

you beat me to it. (ish)

Could'nt he put a rubber on it ?
