  • I'm glad you bought it to my attention, cunstable.

    Fixed.

  • I'm glad you bought it to my attention, orificer.

    And again.

I dunno. Rings hollow to me. Repeatedly saying "we didnt think we'd be put through" doesnt count as an apology. I dont hear them saying "it was the wrong thing to do". Probably been coached by their employers for legal reasons to avoid certain statements.

  • What can they says? such hoaxed shouldn't even tipped the lady into committing suicide, there's must be more to it than that.

  • The laser bead of media sniper rifle on your chest?
    The total public embarrassment?
I would say that kind of shit is hard to shrug off.

    +lots

The discussion is all about them, their thinking, their thoughts, their feelings, their intentions.

The point is it's not about them.

  • So it's their fault? Don't be so stupid.

It's misguided to start the blame game when someone kills themself, but if you want to list factors that contributed, then the days media over reaction around it, as if Kate Middleton's unborn child is the future of humanity, is worthy of mention too.

  • No, it's not their fault. It was a tragic series of events. It's the tone of their interview that I have a problem with.

  • Why Aussies suck thread >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

  • Would it be ok to make fun of any woman in hospital with what ever early pregnancy illness ?
    No.
So why is it okay to do that to Royals ?

The fact that Kate could have been having more than morning sickness and they decided to phone the hospital ?
    What a couple of fuck-tards !

  • I was under the impression the call was the brainchild of Michael Christian. I doubt that he was ever concerned about the impact. He must have known that the two nurses would possibly have been fired, at the least.

That story about the station supposedly trying to contact the hospital five times before they broadcast it sounds like bullshit to me. And if they werent able to make contact then why did they go ahead and broadcast it anyway?

What exactly was the point of this call? That they'd find out more information about a sick woman in hospital? Who exactly was the "prank" on?

Saying that "oh we thought we'd never get through with our stupid accents" isnt good enough. When they got through, they should have hung up, or told their employers not to put it on the air.

  • And yes, that interview is cringeworthy. "How did it make you feel" Oprah-style questioning. They should have been grilled about the discussions that took place afterwards amongst the radio staff and if they ever thought that the nursing staff might get in trouble. They should have been asked if they'd now resign from their jobs.

I hate commercial radio stations with 'shock jocks'.

  • It's Impersonation of a Royal. Surely that's a serious offence.

I'm not a Royalist, but still it's a really distasteful thing to do.

Why on earth is impersonation of royal distasteful? And why on earth would it be a serious offence?

The whole thing was distasteful. Not because they are Royals.

IE; In general, you have a ill family member, you phone the hospital for details, the nurse/sister etc ask if you are a family member.... You reply yes.... you get details.

It is not for the nursing staff to be security guards. They are there to look after their patients.

So someone phones up a hospital, pretends to be the Queen to enquire about her granddaughters health. You can't see anything wrong with that ?

  • You mentioned the royals, not me. Obviously being a dick = being a dick. I just don't think pretending to be the Queen makes anyone more of a dick.

In fact, there is probably an argument to made for the opposite. (That is, less of a dick. Although I'm not sure I buy it, myself. But I might.).

  • I pretend to be the queen every time I have sex, doesn't work otherwise.

  • The lessons to be learnt here are:

Don't prank call a hospital, it's irresponsible, careless and childish.
Don't obsess over the royal family.

The DJ's did both of those things.

  • It's always DJ's fault.

  • teethface
