So the Union Jack is a bit of a weird one. Is it in anyway official? That is, the flag of The Great Kingdom United and Ireland North Britain (official name)?

Flying it year-round was an 'up yours' to one part of the population. Taking it down is that part of the population saying 'up yours' back.

Belfast City Hall have removed the Union Jack from the flag pole for equality reasons (no Union Jack or Tricolor). Unionists attacked the building and the people inside bla bla bla.
