To paraphrase "Dance for me,
monkey boyMr President, I am so rich that I can make the most powerful man in the world dance to my tune" -

Obama should offer to donate $5M to charity if Donald Trump combs his hair
-
• #17605
Would you believe it - yet another pro-life, god-fearing, lunatic republican. Are any of them even remotely sane?
-
• #17606
That^ belongs in epic WTF.

To paraphrase "Dance for me,
monkey boyMr President, I am so rich that I can make the most powerful man in the world dance to my tune"Exactly, It really does reiterate what an absolutely fucking cunt he is. I hope it backfires totally. If it accidentally killed him that would be fine too.

I hope Obama shows the documentation, takes the cash and builds some community-owned wind farms in full view of every property owned by this clown.
Shamelessly stolen from the Guardian comments section. It would be amazing though.
-
• #17609
What's he implying, anyway?
-
• #17610
That Obama wasn't born in America and hence doesn't have the constitutional right to be president.
-
• #17611
But he displayed his birth certificate I thought in order to end all this nonsense?
-
• #17612
Not that I am suggesting Trump is a bitter and inadequate little man but I suspect that having Obama make a room full of people laugh at him at the Press dinner thing last year still rankles.
-
• #17614
He's been hinting at a * big announcement* for a while. Surprise surprise it's an impotent gesture.
Obama's shown himself to be a bit wet with this stuff though. All the accusations of elitism should be meet with an elitist response, complete ambivalence.
"you're an elitist because you wont listen to me"
"no, i won't listen to you because you're a fuckwit." -

sadly I don't think $5M gets you very far in wind farms
-
• #17616
Wind farms don't even pay for themselves.
At least the ones here don't.
-
• #17617
Never will, or not so far?
-
• #17618
Most of the wind farms will take over a decade to pay for themselves and the parts & componentry won't last for that length of time. The only people who win from this are the companies who win the lucrative maintenance contracts.
All of this is a huge fucking con.
We should be nuclear...

What have you been reading?
-
• #17620
Nothing.
My old man (a former electrical engineer) was rattling on about it years ago when the wind farms started to go up.
-
• #17621
I think they've improved them a lot since then.
Myth: Building a wind farm takes more energy than it ever makes
Fact: The average wind farm will pay back the energy used in its manufacture within 3-5 months of operation4. This compares favourably with coal or nuclear power stations, which take about six months. A modern wind turbine is designed to operate for more than 20 years and at the end of its working life, the area can be restored at low financial and environmental costs. Wind energy is a form of development which is essentially reversible – in contrast to fossil fuel or nuclear power stations.Of course they would be in on the con were there one.
Also the option isn't wind or nuclear. You have wind farms where it's windy and nuclear where it's shitty. Also Nuclear stations take 30 years to commission, so it's effectively got a huge lag between outlay and benefit..

• #17622
They're in on it. That's the point.
-
• #17623
I'm beginning to suspect you're right
**Myth: Wind farms are inefficient and only work 30% of the time **
Fact: Half of the wind farm can be running all of the time,
And some of the wind farm can be on part of the time,
But all of the wind farm can't be on all of the time.
I think Abraham Lincoln said that.Myth: Wind farms won't help climate change
Fact: If you gave a shit you would know better than to ask this question.**Myth: Wind farms kill birds **
Fact: Yes they do, but so do the French.**Myth: Wind farms are dangerous to humans **
Fact: There are some studies which suggest that too many wind farms will suck all the wind away, leading to difficulty for the scottish, who have evolved to walk slanting into the wind. Taking the wind away leaves them redundant. But this has not been proven**Myth: Wind farms are noisy **
Fact: We made them noisy to stop the birds flying into them, you can't have it both ways -

"... leading to difficulty for the scottish, who have evolved..."
Aye, right.

Same could be said for Nuclear! (in the UK especially)
It's real, and Trump is trending on Twitter.
