H is right though: there are a lot of what are core Republican values that are pretty sensible, fiscal prudence being one of them as well as a belief in the government that governs less, governs best. But the party has been badly high-jacked by the deeply religious conservatives who have pushed the party towards crazy social policies that only highlights their extreme ignorance and intolerance to go with their smugness of moral superiority. As much as they talk about a bright future for America, they seem to want to push it back to the 1950s as much as possible.
Very succinctly put

A number of rightwing British activists have publicly praised mass murderer Anders Behring Breivik – one describing him as a "role model" – since the Norwegian extremist was sentenced.

Say what you want about him, but he certainly has the kind of get-up-and-go that many young people lack in this country, and would really help our economy.
-
• #16431
Are you being serious?
How can mass murder help an economy?
-
• #16432
no
-
• #16433
That was a very shit joke indeed.
-
• #16434
I wouldn't say it was a joke, more a point. As long as you just find it unfunny, and aren't offended because you're misconstruing my mockery of the idea of seeing Brevik as a role model, for an attempt at just being shocking.

He's a 'high achiever' in the way that Hitler and Stalin were high achievers. Like those two, what he achieved was fucking barbaric, and the idea that these fucking wankstains are idolising him is unsurprisingly but slightly worrying. Hopefully any copycat attempts that follow will be more of a 'failed Islamist in Exeter restaurant toilet nearly blows self up' ilk, if indeed they happen at all.

I also feel I should point out that I feel quite sorry for that Exeter bomber, he was obviously not quite all there and it seems he was seriously taken advantage of.

Oh please.

Hitler was a great man manager.

• #16439
Totally.
-
• #16440
His policies were a bit off, but he duped the Germans.
-
• #16441
That is a very shit joke indeed

• #16442
Actually b&d is right. Hitler was evil, but he was also an excellent leader, narrator and con.
-
• #16443
Narrator?
-
• #16444
Well, he did give speeches that enthraled nations.
-
• #16445
And now on Radio Greater Deutschland, your host Adolf runs you through the top tips when annexing the Sudetenland...
-
• #16446
Meh, hot topic that's just going to get worse... MeThinks I'll leave this one for the big boys to fight over it
-

Well, he did give speeches that enthraled nations.
I think his armed forces did that - enslaved, that is...
-
• #16448
But someone (and lots of them) had to believe in him to get to that point. Even if it was wrong.

Christ! Someone makes a bad taste joke and it descends into a poorly researched discussion about the pros and cons of Hitler's management style. Seriously, put the keyboard down and go and do something outside. Maybe, and this is a radical idea given that this is a cycling forum and all, but maybe you could go and ride your bike?

The Edinburgh Festival was horrific. Relatively young and inexperienced poshos were sent to hostile and remote theatres, although they had been trained and equipped to fight street skirmishes...
Tough crowd...
Syrup cartels!
