Finally a rational view on the whole UC Davis Pepper-gate saga:
“I mean, its like a derivative of actual pepper. It’s a food product, essentially.”

I haven't seen any mention of this thoroughly ignorant Metro article on the forum today:http://www.metro.co.uk/news/882297-irresponsible-cyclists-should-pay-road-tax-say-quarter-of-drivers
"'Irresponsible' cyclists should pay road tax, say quarter of drivers."
Makes me livid!
Those meaningless stats too!
As we all know, there is no such thing as Road Tax. Roads are paid for from Council Tax.I'm emailing the Metro requesting a correction and I'm about to email Confused to ask what the hell they're playing at by propagating this damaging myth. Do add your voice.
Grrrrr.
This has been all over Twitter. See:
http://twitter.com/#!/search/%40confused_comPeter Walker at the Gruniad called them 'bumbling insurance goons' on his Twitter, which is a marvellous turn of phrase.

I don’t think we have the right to Monday morning quarterback the police
Yes, we do actually. That's what happens in democracies where state actors are accountable to the people for their actions.

No point telling us. Tell Bill. (Not me, the other one.)

Just watched that news piece. Just another day in the life of Bill O'Reilly. At least with Glen Beck you can appreciate the comedy in giving a man so paranoid and scared of everything a TV show, but I just can't get my head around Bill. I can barely watch him for the anger it builds up inside me.

Bus drivers pulling down/running down barriers at Hammersmith Bridge.
I cycle over the bridge most days and TBH, I don't blame the bus drivers. The approaches are bloody awful no matter what form of transport you're using.
Cyclists are directed to hop up onto the pavement to avoid the barriers, steering them slap bang into people waiting at the ped crossings. Cars barely have enough room to fit through the concrete channels, as evidenced by all the scrapes. Peds don't fare much better as people waiting to cross block the pavement for everyone else.
Shambles.
They're allowing outraged motorists to have their say on Channel 5 at the moment if anyone wants to get angry at their television.
