+1 just likes the sound of his own voice..
You'd think players like Cooper would get his backing..
but cooper isn't as good as Campo was, certainly in Campo's eyes.

^ ^ What's worse whining or whinging about whining?
The English might like a moan, but it's usually about their own state of affairs.
-
• #954
All this talk off the AB's whinging is bollocks, the team/management themselves don't usually say much after each W/C capitulation, the general public/media on the other hand bitch and moan like there is no tomorrow. After 2007 I think they had good reason though, no one expects a perfect game from a ref but Barnes was fucking hopeless in that match. But still the AB's had the chance to win and didn't take it, so ultimately no-one to blame but themselves.
Speaking of arrogant Aussies, put Gregan on that list next to Campo.

Interesting.. Never really heard much chat in the media from Gregan. Assumed he was a nice enough chap.

I ran into him in the local coffee shop last week and gave him a friendly "4 more years". I got the death stare in return (his mates thought is was pretty funny though), on the plus side the barista gave me my coffee and friand free, GG is in there daily and apparently he's a right grumpy prick (mind you- so am I before coffee).
Told a few mates about it and they have heard similar tales of grumpiness/arrogance.

^^ +1 but to be honest there are very few world class sportsmen (in any field let alone rugby) who are what you would call down to earth, humble people off the top of my head the ones that come to mind, in rugby, are actually mostly Irish; Keith Wood, BOD and Ronan O'Ghara but would also say Micheal Lynagh and Oz du Randt
-
• #958
Keith Wood has come across as being thoroughly descent in my few dealings him.
-
• #959
I met BOD in Dublin a while a go, was at a pub with Mrs Bobbo and she got chatting to "this guy" while I was at the bar getting a round in came back with the drinks to find her telling BOD that he "should play rugby as he clearly has the physique for it" god knows how he managed to keep a straight face, when I explained to Mrs Bobbo who he was she got very embarrassed but the guy was incredibly magnanimous about it and clearly saw the funny side of it.

Bollocks? That clears is up then...
Actually, and I can only speak for my own post, I think you agree with me. I was talking about NZ, not the AB's.
Barnes wasn't good in 2007, but the AB's benefitted as much as the French. Fear of repeating myself, NZ should have been reduced to 14 men after 5 minutes, and McAllister's try came off the back of a forward pass.

planning to form colts XV and 7s in my children's school and forge links with London Nigerian RFC. Despite being a girls school, we do have a mixed sixth form college. This may have problems, but I am hoping that some of the boys who have recently joined us can become the pioneer players.
The school and club are keen to support this idea, and I have joined a rugby specific forum, to establish a wider understanding of how RFU London operates and become part of a local school league.
Also want to create summer camp / tours in Wales and Ireland as I have links there and get involved in cup competitions and sevens events in the London region.
Wish me luck, once it is up and running, suspect my cycling will be taking a back seat. Actually feck that, i'll make the squad do laps of swains lane as interval training sessions!! If you have any wise words or experience, i'd be interested in hearing from you.
cheers

^ Best of luck Almac, may be worth trying to talk to some of the professional clubs as they often have schemes to try and promote rugby in the community so may be able to help you out there.
-

a) they should have been reduced to 14 men after a stone-cold assault on Serge Betson, inside five minutes, which led to him being subbed (Did he whine? Did he fuck?);
What are you talking about? Serge got clipped nastily in the head, whilst on the ground, by a knee from one of his team mates. That's why he left the field.

cheers Bobbo, we also have links with Llanharan RFC and Welsh Squad.. the link could look a bit like this..St Marylebone RFC (est 2012) - London Nigerian RFC (est 1991) - Llanharan RFC (est 1881) - WRU (est 1881)

Also I used to use this book:
As the basis of most of the fitness training that I did when I used to coach colts rugby, it quite good as most of the exercises don't require weights (keeps costs down, so you can buy better pads / tackle suits) and allows you to develop fitness and strength at the same time. There are also websites out that have good rugby specific fartlek programs, I just can't think of one off the top of my head right now and I'm too lazy to google it!

bobbo this is great..
i want the school to provide fitness training within the 6th form syllabus. we have a brand spanking new gym, that way it benefits everyone, not just the rugby players.
we could start this tomorrow:)
I am meeting the club president today to discuss a plan of action and what costs are involved, we should utilise what we have but there will be a shopping list of equipment needs.
getting framework in place first though. LNRFC are well connected so we will see what we can get.

You need to watch it again, sunshine. See what happened to Betsen when he was trying to get to his feet - ball nowhere near him - before he got clipped by the shin of his team mate...

I resent the idea that anybody whines better than the English.
After we won the world cup, and I was celebrating with a pub garden. It took less than 30mins for the discussion to turn to...
Shame we cant win stuff, and play expansive rugby...
Why do we rely so much on kicking FFS...
etc.Win world cup, winge anyway.

Played 8 last Saturday, went ok. On our ball, if asked, pick and move right, pop ball to SH. On ball won against the head, pick and go left, smash anything in front. Any other time, secure ball for SH pick up. That and if anything in an oppo shirt is moving, hit it til it stops moving. If it isn't moving, hit it until it moves.
In at 8 again this Saturday - Home game, 15:00 kick off, Dulwich Common, SE21 7HA, bar should be open if anyone needs to shake off the Dark Times hangover.

which team are you playing for Steveo? Our 2nd team are playing at OAs soon I believe..
-
• #971
3's - it's funny, I felt bad as I used to be regular 1's and 2's but the club has grown and moved up as a whole, some guys moved up with it and we have had an influx of new good/young players with the success of the club. Our 3's are now above where our 2's where when I joined so I'm happy enough that even with 2 seasons of injury I'm still at the level (if a bit fitter and more varied/experienced) I was 5 years ago.
Aye, Guy's 2's are up at ours next Saturday playing our 4's - I remember playing against them for our 2's in my first couple of seasons!

Wales: Played 7, Won 4, Lost 3
Spirited but hapless as ever.
Shame really.
-
• #973
England: played 5, won 3, lost 2
No semblance of fight, dignity or inventiveness.
To be expected really.
-
• #974
Played 5, won 4
But yes, a shambles.
-
• #975
Altho very little and albeit too late, there was inventiveness.
Youngs and Foden communicated well to bring try.
Unfortunately we seem to need a second half deficit to call upon.
It's like the players don't believe in themselves.
Who's bitching now?
