THe crowd i was sitting with kept screaming for Hougaard to stop kicking... Every time the ball went to him, but in the end, as they say in the classics, if you dont succeed, try try try again.
The number of SA world class players in the Saracens side is testiment to the darker side of SA rugby. If the chance to play (and beat) a world champion is there, and your options are limited, osmosis will occur.
Im hoping we can save some face and win against Italy.

What were Edinburgh thinking? I suppose the two scottish provinces playing each other in mid-winter will probably need something to brighten it up!*
*not a comment on their play, just the weather..

Not the slightest bit inspired by Stade Francias ;)

The alt commentary looks fun too. -

NZ commentators are brilliant, thanks for that
-
• #237
Ill be there to support the ABs as well

I realised now that there is a slight clash for me. I doubt i can watch both SA/Italy and NZ/Eng unless the pub plays more than one channel. Do you know if it would? Or if there is a pub nearby that i can do SA/Italy and then come back for the rest?
-
• #239
SA/Italy kicks off at 1400 I think, there might be somewhere in balham that'll play it, can't think of anywhere in clapham that would, C+H only plays one channel at a time I think
-
• #240
Manor Arms in Clapham often plays two games at once.
-
• #241
Thanks Markyboy!
This way i get to see both games AND the second one will be with you lot. -
• #242
^ Don't shoot me if I'm wrong...

• #243
I wont - dont worry. Ill probably cycle in early to see if they do to give me a chance to find you...

Yesterday's performance was better than last, I dismiss the questions over Johnsons leadership/coaching ability, I just think that England need to get physical. They need to get old school and sack this kicking malarky off. Hurt them in the scrum (if the refs will ever let them develop), put in the big hits, start making the rest of world rugby play with a bit of caution when they face us. The first 5-10 minutes from yesterday is how we should play for the full 80.
I'm loving Banahan in the line up, he's bringing a ferocity seldom seen in the back line, a much welcome insertion.
I cannot wait for the 6 nations :)

good to meet you guys. that was some decent ruggas! apparently the SA italy game was rather bland so im glad to have watched this one.
we should do this again soon!

Banahan is the most over-rated one dimensional rugby player I've ever seen. The very fact that he's playing international rugby is shocking.
Being big and relatively quick is fine when you're playing against some club wingers (only some of them) but just won't cut it against international quality wingers.
If it weren't for the commentary talking him up I don't think I'd notice him.

I cant now - i have been roped into being at work. Sucks balls...
Ref was fucking shocking - Sarries managed to turn it over a couple of times only to have the ref blow the whistle for holding on and then for Hougaard to balls it up. Again.
Quite shocked how bad SA were - thank god we got Schalk Brits eh?
£250,000 guy was a legend - looking at him before the kick I thought he was a no hoper. Now he's fucking laughing
