  • Says "starting soon" for me.

  • started!!

  • Hes riding a dolan track bike, with a front and rear brake, not sure if its fixed or freewheel

  • Well that's a shame.

  • Here it is . .

The bike Chris Hoy will race against Lewis Hamilton in Sunday's Race of Champions is built around a standard Dolan DF3 carbon track frame modified to accept a rear brake. The frame's standard track fork has been replaced by an Alpina Wing TT fork, again with brake caliper. The machine wears steel Deda Velocita track bars to handle Chris Hoy's powerful accelerations. Sugino cranks and bottom bracket transmit's Hoy's 2kW-plus plus via a 50 tooth chainring and Izumi chain to a 16 tooth freewheel.

  • hoy isn't racing to icey :(

  • Well that was worth staying in for - fucking british weather

  • Can't blame them really, he would of gone down for sure if he pushed it. The car seems to be handling pretty well though....

  • Cancelled!

    So dissapointing.

    :(

In a car it doesn't really matter if you loose it at the slow speeds they'll be driving round the course.

If how had an off he'd be out of training for while. Even if it was just a week with some bruises but it could be worse.

there ya go, Chris's shopping bike.

Craig Maclean also used deep track drops with hoods for the salford nocturne, these guys output big numbers and they like to have something strong at the front

  • Chris Hoy is BBC Sports Personality of the Year - 2008

  • Yeah it was a bit disapointing being there and not see him race, but I did meet him, shake his hand and get a pic with him =D

Even got my shoe signed by Schumi too, quite a good day.

  • Congratulations Mr. Hoy! :)

Did you get your shoe signed by Schumacher because of the meaning of his name or because it's something one does with F1 drivers who have their shoes on the pedals?

Haha no they were a pair of Puma Ferrari shoes.

Reminds me of something Martin Brundel said after a comment from Schumacher, ""Well I guess if your name's Schumacher you can talk cobblers!""

I'll post the pic up as soon as my camera stops being tempermental.

  • Well done Mr. Hoy
    Totally fixed.... :)

He nearly blew it, as well, what with proposing to ride single speed today before it was cancelled.

  • Not entirely on-topic, but I filmed this at the ROC and thought it was pretty good.

  • No they spent a bazillion pounds on wembley and didn't put a roof on it. Fucking idiots. And they seemed shocked it got rained off in december.
