Don't think I'll be buying Maxxis Re-fuse again.
The rubber is just peeling off in chunksHad I known I would have bought you some Continental Four Seasons from Germany.

The rubber is just peeling off in chunksThat bound to happen if you rode like a 14 years old who discovered the joy of coaster brake.

Descent Gear don't stock Maxxis any more and Maxxis UK don't answer queries from their website and their twatter account is obsessed with their motorbike podium girls, so how can I find replacement Maxxis Refuse 28c now?
-
• #205
Order from Australia I think

I wonder if the 28's still size up as a 28?
-
• #209
Mine don't, not even close -
• #210
What's this about sizing? Will I be able to get 25c on my PX Pro Carbon SL and still have clearance for those little plastic Race Blade mudguards? Currently running Michelin Pro3 Race 23c, no problems but cosy fit.
-
• #211
If it's a tight fit with 23mm, you're outta luck with the 25mm.
-

The issue with Maxxis Refuse is that the marked size no longer bears a true relation to the measured size- so my marked 25c pair measure at 23mm on an 18mm internal width rim.
I suspect that the 28's will be closer to a 25, although who knows- maybe Adoubletap can measure his?
My old/previous gen 28c ones are an actual large-volume tyre, but it looks as though they are no longer available anywhere.
-
• #213
My 23s are true 23 although i think they might be the older ones and not much help with the 28s
-
• #214
I think mine were 25/26mm when I measured and thats on a 29er disc rim -
• #215
My previous gen 28c measures at 26.5mm on a TN719- internal width of 19mm I believe.
-
• #216
I just broke out the verniers and I'm completely wrong; they are bob on 28mm

The 28c are now reduced, down to £25.99 I think.

Have you bought some Andy? Just wondering if they are the old version or the new.
-
• #219
I've heard a lot about these new refuses, what exactly is the difference?
-
• #220
I have a pair of the "new" 25c ones, they measure, on an 18mm internal width rim, bang on 23mm.

Unfortunately the Maxxis Re-Fuse Folding tyre in 28C is now sold out and discontinued, I do apologise for any inconvenience caused. We can offer the tyre in the 25C version if this is of any interest?
Please call our customer service team on 01274 588488 or +44 1274 588488 (if you are outside UK) if you would like to discuss any alternative options.
We do try and make sure that as many items as possible are in stock. Having good stock availability is obviously good for business as well as keeping you happy! We do sincerely apologise that the item that you wanted to order is now out of stock and hate this problem as much as you do.
Kind Regards,
Natasha

The question is, what's better - these in 25mm (or 23mm as they may turn out to be), or a pair of Durano's in 28mm (or any other recommendations for commuting in London)?
-
• #225
If you're not skidding I'd get the Duranos
blimey. has it been left in the sun?
