  • got to say - still have my front one on and sure, great tyre, no probs - but the back one got very quickly to the point where bits came off in lumps after my (i.e. not particularly crazy) skidding.. bear in mind I've got 17 skid patches too...so i took it off to save me the punctures I felt were on their way. If anyone has still ridden and skidded on them with lumps out without punctures or ride being altered then I'd be happy to know.

so jury's out for me on their all-round excellence, but for grip and smoothness and puncture resistance and lovely-to-put-onness... yep, great tyre, ready to buy again.

  • Buying them from Scott at East Drinks adds something to the experience also.

Well as of today i'm tee total again so at least i won't be pissing away the money next time!

  • Looking for a pair of these. Anyone know which London stores stock them, or an online shop with quick delivery?

    Ha....that didn't work then. :)

  • In response to your mail Mr Orange....seems the importers still haven't got them back in yet. So i'm afraid it's a case of wherever you can find them still in stock.

  • Alright, thanks.

looks like www.winstanleysbikes.co.uk has them in stock

  • Ordered two from here yesterday:
    http://www.allterraincycles.co.uk/product/108017.html

Were waiting for me when I arrived at work 9am this morning - recommended.

  • Am going to repeat the op question

am assuming that scragie grobia has none for sale. So where can I find them in londons famous?

  • Chain Reaction have them at the moment, dunno any actual london shops though
    http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=12537

  • I don't think anyone in London's famous London stocks them - when I was looking for a London stockist I rang round quite a few places then gave up.

  • I need a couple (and an equivalent in 650) so would be happy to form part of a group purchase if such a thing is possible?

  • Thanks for the advice, I shall investigate Rubino's.

  • If anyone is ordering a refuse do not (as I did) order it from www.activesport.co.uk, I ordered one from them months ago and I'm still -£20 and without a tyre.

    Total shit service.

  • As I said further up the thread I found the service from all terrain cycles great and they arrived next day.

That said I know it was suggested to SJS that they stock them, they don't seem to be yet despite selling Maxxis tubes (so must be able to use the distributor presumably). Would be good for our esteemed sponsor to stock them given their popularity on here.

  • i ordered both my refuse's from all terrain cycles dot co dot uk at different times and both arrived within 2 days.

  • I got next day pretty much on CRC, have always bought my Maxxis from them. Free delivery too.

  • I bought from All Terrain Cycles. I had to wait a million years for tyres that were supposely in stock, and when they arrived one of them was a completely different tyre. I could not recommend them. I bought more from Chain Reaction Cycles and they were there in a couple of days.

  • Phuntclaps

    just ordered from all terrain

  • it should be ok, i have bought a few things from ATC and were fine.

but then again, i have ordered from CRC for years and never had any problem except for during the postal strike.

i have noticed, the rear is wearing down a bit fast, and i don't skid that much, so am tempted to remove it before its unusable and switch to a cheap skid friendly tyre.

  • My rear lasted about a year - no skidding though. I think the fact that I keep my bike in the flat meant that because there was a lot of change between temps, it eventually split, even then it didn't puncture. I only noticed how bad it was when i removed my rear mudguard as I was using the bike at HH the next day. I can't honestly remembering it ever puncturing though which is a first for any tyre for me.

if your really serious about that, Scott is probably the one to get in contact with.
He did actually do this once with the Maxxis reFuse, getting quite a lot on the cheaper side of a good price, but if i remeber rightly it wasn't a huge saving, but still.

  • tredz have them I think

  • as do chainreaction, free postage.

  • What the hell has happened to the price of these???

I got a pair for £33 in Feb' 10, £42 in Sep '10 and now Chain Reaction want £54.

  • Priced themselves out of the market?
