  • just so you know...

    .

Do you have a pic of one of these frames built up?

  • and here too

    @budda f - yep - they are onone frames
to help me with sizing advice - whats your inseam measurement??? what frame (make+size) you riding now?

medium - 53cm centre to top of seat tube 54.5cm top tube
large - 56cm centre to top of seat tube 56cm top tube - ONLY 4 LEFT SO DONT SLEEP ON IT!

  • Erm, my jeans are normally 30" or 31"...no exact measurements I'm afraid! At the moment I ride a 56cm road conversion, comfortably.

  • Are these frames / forks drilled for brakes?

  • ^ you need to buy the fork, its frame only fella.

Bit misleading. Add a fork and headset and it starts to look expensive.

  • If it said F&F & headset for £135, then yeah, that would be misleading.....

But it doesn't... get a fork elsewhere, if you don't like the price don't buy, but it's pretty cheap for a frame....

Bit misleading. Add a fork and headset and it starts to look expensive.

  • It's good. Gives you the option to use an existing fork or choose road/track option.

craig: is there gonna be a forum special for the Kurt Kinetic trainers? :)

  • Craig - what's the welding quality generally like on the alu frames? Obviously its a budget frame, but fairly neat and tidy?

  • Is the frame drilled for a brake?Anyone?

  • sorry for delay folks - family duties etc... i have a life outside of the basement...

@ads - dont physically have one in front of me - but i dont think its drilled - i'll confirm that tomorrow when i schlep over to dn6... fork options are TT style track - undrilled, TT - drilled
@ marie - yes welds are tidy... essentially this is a £300+ frame on closeout. most of the contemporary interest in frames seems to be leaning towards steel, carbon or road friendly alu, so we're clearing out slow moving stock... there is a triple butted alu fixed gear frameset in the pipeline - although might be a good few months till it goes into production - still in design/sample stages
@illy - just giving you the option... some of these frames will only see the track, some street (brakeless or drilled)
@hippy - you asked, i can only suggest to the fearless leaders... i am trying to get forum members some kinda discount sorted out as i've stated before - the feedback i get from my colleagues is to get yourselves signedup to my mailing list - just the way the owners prefer it... if you get one are you gonna become a stayathome???
@bf - i'd say large looking at the numbers. there's now three left...

anymore questions - i'll get back to you tomorrow... its time for bedtime stories!!!

  • how come all the decent value track frames on planet-x never come in a small?

  • rear triangle is NOT drilled

@dfp: fewer small are ordered, for some reson its a slower sellng size...

  • Graig, with the discounts would an Espresso Cafe Racer build up any cheaper than the one you have on offer (been eyeing it up for ages but only have about £400 ish). Also, for this kinda budget, what would you suggest as a build based on your knowledge of your parts and frames etc?

Thanks. You don't get if you don't ask :)
    I'm subbed to your list.
I am far too fond of getting myself submerged in water, frozen to near death and run down by psychos in cars to become house-bound!
Besides, I fucking HATE indoor training (alone at least, the club sessions are good). I just want it for when I've missed a ride and the guilt kicks in.. 60min of self-flagellation makes it all better.

  • what a day...

schleped 8 tons of wooden flooring today - helping out guys in warehouse... and then heaps of stuff for xmas offers - anyone after kashimax saddle and nitto seatpost, mks sylvan and px clips and straps and a package including metalico bar and kashimax jelly tt protector - check the site over the next couple of days - ranges from 15-20% off if you get the bundle...

the neuron track guerciottis should be with us next week - i'll get photos up here as soon as they drop

one of the fearless leaders has recommended that i do a carbon pro track street build for a stupid price, i mean real dumb (if youre after a techno track complete for the street you'd be stupid not to get this) - this will be a limited run of mebbe ten bikes - and will be good to go in the new year... so if youre thinking about it start reminding the piggy bank where bacon comes from...
in fact, if anyones after something like this, gimme a heads up of what you want component wise and i'll see what we can do...

ctb - i will try and pm you when i get home and advise - might be tomorrow morning - in the meantime please pm me your height and inside leg so i can attempt to advise

looking forward to seeing some of you this weekend at maca/fixed!!!

Now I really need to get myself a job. Look forward to checking out your bike at the weekend.

  • got a bit of money for christmas and thinking about buying the omnium track cranks - can't tell if they come with the bb. If not, which ones are compatible?

  • According to this the Omnium cranks "don't need one" so i guess this means its included.
    http://www.planet-x-warehouse.co.uk/acatalog/Fixed_Wheel_Pro_Carbon_TT.html

  • That's pretty encouraging. According to the "more details" section here: http://www.planet-x-warehouse.co.uk/acatalog/Cranksets.html they weigh 124g (which seems a lot for something that doesn't exist) so I assume you must be right and they're included...

  • Omniums use those voodoo external BBs.

    shudder

  • That is slightly terrifying but this review makes it seem pretty manageable: http://www.bikeforums.net/archive/index.php/t-438552.html (seems like you just get a BB cup)

  • Omniums are the first crankset to make use of the patented lfgss INVERSE BB.

  • I've been running mine like this with a single toe clip, always felt a bit odd tbh...

Gonna try this now... Looks like it may be a bit uncomfy tho'...
