I was thinking about the OSS Dart, but it's the 22nd sept this year, which i think is too late.
Theres a 10k at the end of May at Dorney, but thats too soon.............. there is one in cornwall, actually where i spent many days in the summer growing up.... theres a 1,3 and 10k, beginning of sept.... but weather will affect this one so......... just see how things go once i get back outside i spose....

It's all relative though isnt it ? I'm not a fast swimmer, and i dont particulary like even trying to sprint, i prefer steady :)
My 5k averages 90 minutes. I would like to make it 80-something.....
Endurance is more important to me, depends what you want from it, doesnt it ?
Thanks for the compliment though.... I think.... ;) -

Can't swim tmw even if I wanted to- fresh muscle biopsy. You could still go to the pool, and do drills to keep your feel for the water.
Kicks, front, back, breast, fly
one arm fly
one arm drills fc, with kickboardpractise fly kick verically in the deep end, like treading water with just fly kick, its hard.
Go to the pool and play, no strain on that shoulder though ! -

Currently recovering from a leg biopsy so no pool till that heals a little bit more.
5k in 90 mins? That's pretty damn good!
Been running and at the gym rebuilding the muscles with theraband.
Should be fine when I get back in the pool on Tuesday. -

[rant]
Threw my toys out pram at club last night, I'm fed up of swimmers with something to prove who try and smash the warm-up / drills then go off at sprint pace for an endurance main set and fade quickly from there.
I ended up doing multiple 75fc 25 breast reps instead of 100fc's after giving folks a 25m headstart on each rep. Didn't really want to go ahead as that'd just allow them to draft and feel like they were still swimming strong, coach eventually put me at the front despite my sulking.
Might just move up a lane and hang on for grim death, wish there was a happy medium though. [/rant]

Fuck em.just train when you want.testosterone overloads are so boring.

absolutely, I cannot do club sessions any more for more or less that exact reason.

It's the same with running or riding.
You know what it was.
You can come on here and give it all that yadda yadda but if you didn't train hard or do what it was you're only lying to yourself -

same reason I quit my masters club. I was getting nothing out of the lane i was in and couldn't hack it in the next one up. tried it and was close to passing out/throwing up trying to keep pace. maybe i should have stuck it out but it didn't feel safe pushing that hard. it's no fun when it's like that.
cocked up my own personal session tonight, got tempted into trying to keep up with a girl who was a fair bit faster than me for the first half hour and faded badly. got out after 45 mins. feeling like my stroke had been all over the shop too.
meh.
