got it to get to work and back. then one day i took the brakes and freewheel off just to see what it was like. then became addicted. still have the frame in my garage bent and buckled beyond repair. funny that.

This was mine, got it circa 2008/9 a pretty nice Claud Butler frame for free off the CTC forum with scuzzy paint, that I built up with drops and levers and a silly spinny low gear. It was tad too long for me, but it worked and got me into the road side of cycling.

Still got the frame, it resides on top of my wardrobe, don't think I'll be selling it or getting rid of it.

I had this in 2010 i think.

^^ Same here. Teenage mutant ninja turtles bike with solid plastic tyres and only one brake. Still remember the day I learnt to ride it, and getting pedal strike whilst turning into our drive.

It came like that I soon swapped for a dirty harry and bar tape until the axle disintegrated I decided to strip it without the correct tools.

I miss it though

I'm ashamed to say I rode this ugly piece of shit for about 2 and a half years before I got a clue. I got it in 2010.

It didnt always look like this either. It had bright green wheels when I got it but this is the only picture I can find.
