@Superjosh
Anytime fella. I'm asking £15 for a 'swallow' or tied 'swift' (<this is only on the drawing board at the moment - you could be the first?!). I'll deboss it with some lettering if you want some. I'm going to charge £20 pretty soon, once I've done a whole bunch of saddles. Then I won't feel like I'm undercutting Hassan. I just wanted to get better at it first. Not trying to steal your thunder Skully, but VeLLo also has done a chop job on his own Brooks, that is very impressive. I'm hoping he might post a pic.
Still, when I buy a Brooks, I'm going to have you chop mine, as you are The Man.
:)
No thunder stolen, GA2G! Lots of people on here chop their own saddles. As far as I know Hassanr and I are the only ones offering this to other people for a small fee. I'm still learning, and by no means 'the man'. Witness me debossing Fresh's old Wrights saddle with the 'F' upside down. DOH! Never again... Anyway of course I'd be honoured to chop a saddle for you. As long as I get a place on some kind of list of other.
I just debossed 'SKULLY' across the top of a b17 of mine, it looks lovely. Pics up when I get back to work in a week or so. I think it works better on honey saddles than dark ones, as the letters go darker than the hide around them. If anyone wants some lettering (only) done, I'd be happy to oblige for a pint.
As of now, I am happy to chop saddles sent by post back and forth, for people outside London, with at-cost postage.
Happy new year to all the chopees, past and future. And the proper saddle people who wouldn't be seen dead on a Brooks.

Here's a sample of lettering done across the seat of the a saddle, on my B17 Champion.
It looks SO nice, and rides well - I don't think it will affect how it feels on your bum.
I will do this for a pint for anyone with a hide saddle, name or initials or whatever (W.A.C.?) - and free with a chop job. If I've already choppped your saddle and want me to add, PM me to arrange to pop round, it takes me ten minutes.
Cheers.

Dante when you coming for your saddle? I can meet you somewhere given a little notice...
-
• #155
I was the first to have it done! Even before Skully himself!
And it looks F R E S H !
After a bit of riding and weather it looks like part of the original design and your arse can't feel it.
Plus a good way to make tealeaves think twice about nicking it once it's personalised.

(Skully - Did I do well? I said exactly what you told me to.)

Big Ted's from Herefordshire, my first out-of-towner's chop job, a B17N.. It was a bit sagged but some patient 'blocking out' has transformed it back to the original profile very nicely. Chop and tie, and minimal nose trim, a couple of letters on there, and also I've tried to seal up a couple of small splits around the holes on the top with beeswax, to try and prevent moisture from worsening them. I decided not to trim the back end, as it looked rather nice as you see it, don't think Ed minded one way or another. In the post to you shortly Ed.
I am happy to try and reshape the top of saddles for a small fee, if anyone's got a sagged old 'hammocked' one that need some love. No extra charge if you're getting me to chop it too, it just takes a couple of extra days.

Hey Skully, I'd be interested in getting some lettering done. What's the details (price, where to bring the saddle)?

Lettering only, no choppy choppy? I will charge you, my friend, the grand total of One Bottle of English Cider. I will be at souths (fairly late) this monday, I could collect it from you then ... ?It doesn't take long, just a matter of hooking up with you again to give you finished item back.
Cheers

If I were you Stevo, I would let Skully customize the living fuck out of my saddle!
Mine turned out an utter beauty!! Really comfortable to ride as well! They are like the 'thongs' of the Saddle world!!
Skully, what about detailing the saddle with say a soldering iron to do illustrations and stuff??

i'm stoney broke at the minute so even though it's not really risking a B17 as judging by reactions and seeing the evidence, i trust him. i think i'll just wait til i've had more life out of the original before i send it to the cutter

He does it out of love (and a little money) though!!
IMO they look and ride a lot better when they come back from the Skully man! I'm not being biased as I don't like the man or his style!.....but he has the hands of an Angel.

Stevo
No probs with just doing some stamping stuff, mate. Would even be happy to chop for you for the love of it, you could pay me when you're more flush, if you like. No probs either way.WhiteBlossom
Thanks for your slightly sexy saddle praise.Any more feedback from my 'customers' (I consider you all friends now since I've been so intimate with your saddles) would be gratefully recieved. How are you getting on with yours in it's new shape?

Errrrr 'friends'???
You wouldn't even hold me after you had finished with my saddle. Kicked me out the door still raw.
Worth it though!

Hi Skully, can I drop off my other Brooks for you to chop and repair.
Needs a little respect as its at least 50 years old.
The 17 is great.
VeLLo, post a photo of yours.
Got some talented peeps on here.
JOL, VeLLo, and grandmaster Skullychops.
