What I don't get is why this post-room person wanted or felt the need to do this to you. D'you think they fancy you but weren't able to express it?
EDIT
PS Good luck with the writing. -

Complain to his boss - he works in the post room for fucks sake.

Yopu should contest it, and ask to see the CCTV from their lift...

I thought this was a joke - "cunt - structive dismissal" - but I just read the link, thanks for that.
They've got me over a barrel unfortunately, as couriers are technically self-employed.
Appreciate that though, thanks :)

Sounds like they have no grounds, especially as it is his word against yours.
Why not phone his boss and make up some equally ludicrous claim, like you argued because he tried to spark up a joint in your van?
-
• #32
no, better say that he try to atack you sexualy
-
• #33
my gut hurts from laughing at that...
-
• #34
say he touched you in the cock area and that he said if you didn't suck his chipolata he would get you sacked.
it's your word against his. -

something like this

Surely this is constructive dismissal?

Have a chat with the CAB, see what they think.

First thing I thought reading the OP was 'constructive dismissal'.

I'm impressed by your equanimity jar. I know shit happens but officious jumped up twats like this guy who abuse the miniscule amount of power they have and fuck people over are the scum of the earth.
If it was me I'd be right up for revenge.

I'm sure this kind of thing happens in lots of industries but it is pretty common amongst couriers; if a client complains it is your word against theirs and if push comes to shove you'll get the boot. Being 'self-employed' makes it all too easy for companies to dismiss you without notice or valid reason. I can't think of anyone who has successfully challenged such a decision. Most of the time the company will keep you on and be decent about it but it's knowing that in the end you are at their mercy, or at the mercy of a spiteful client, that can make the job feel very insecure.

Couriers don't get dismissed, their company just doesn't give them any more work.

Will, as if you would ever engender my scorn.

That's true; when I was a controller I was told I must never used the words 'sacked' or 'fired' when getting rid of someone as that implied they were employed by the company. It was also pointed out to me that "not fanciable" was insufficient reason to get rid of a rider.

How about "Insufficiently hipsterish"?

(You semi-literate Northern cunt). He still let through the rarely seen mistake of - 'their's'.
Shame on you Will.

The merest hint of hipsterishness would have seen you sent packing during my reign of terror. And don't get me started on Jewish riders...
Legal: I was not anti-semitic and never 'sacked' anyone on the basis of their race, ethnicity, religion, sexuality or nationality. I was merely assaying a Russel Brand style of 'edgy' humour which I have been led to believe is popular with today's young people. I now realise it was a mistake and I am sorry for the hurt and distress I have unintentionally caused. I will suspend myself for three months and donate my fee for this post to the Anti-Defamation League.

No such thing, much like you can call anything 'art' - once a hipster has declared himself so - any transgression or falling short of current hipster benchmarks is intentional irony.

Oh, so you are a Jew lover are you ?
Or a Jew hater ?
Either way, this makes you a neo-con.

So by being too old to be a hipster I am being hipsterishly ironic and therefore a hipster?
Great, I must run and tell my daughters.

I'm an easy lover. I'll take your heart and you won't feel it.
You talking about Vogue magazine?
