  • @ Mechamorgan, Just to clarify, the reason i bought my bike and have BMX bars, was to fulfill my dream of being a 'hipster chief'.

    Looks like it worked hey!

    TOOL.

  • Matt black frame and bullhorns being pushed down Barlow Moor Rd - as the bike had no chain....

  • I saw lots of pushers today - up market street,a tidy jade coloured frame - are there any FBM's in Mnac?
also some twat waiting to to get on the bus on oxford road with a bike.

many times i've contemplated trying, if you have a puncture/broken part and you're a long way from home it is at least excusable now

  • I don't think you're allowed a full bike on. The (possibly bullshit) story is that if you just whip the front wheel off, then it just counts as luggage. No idea what that is really like that. I can just about fit my bike in the back of a black cab. I know that because I don't actually cycle anywhere, I just lock my bike up to look cool and 'urban', then throw it in a taxi when I need to get about.

@bobo - Sorry boss, I shouldn't have got at you. I retract my previous statement and extend a hand of goodwill. I remain slightly bemused at your choice of bar, but it is, as stated, your choice. The separation afforded by anonymity tends to bring out the worst in anyone, so I apologise again.

You're right though. Ask anyone on here, I am a tool!

Me, a Z510 link failure, and a failure to put my tools in my bag after taking them out yesterday = 4 mile walk home. Ah well.

    Shoulda jumped on the bus...

  • 'tis flat there... you could've scooted still?

I look enough of a twat without doing that, walking > scooting.

its true and i have proof :)

    Bah, Scooting is underrated.

  • loads of fixie skidders without brakes and foot retention riding REAL SLOW. i've been riding my war-time single speed shopper and i totally rinse them like embarrassingly so...how can they go so slow? i guess people won't see them riding their skidders so easily unless they slow down...i nearly gave one a hand sling

they need to go slow cos they can't brake or skid!! so they can only lose speed by resisting the cranks.

bobo - haven't seen your bike but you're not winning the absurd bars comp in Mcr that easily. there's all the wierdos going around with ghetto graeme obree numbers, i.e. upturned drop bars, making the brake levers in godawful position

  • Morgan's charge outside retro a week ago. i left a note on your D-lock saying "do a skid knobhead x". i just remembered you never mentioned it!

  • Si, please, I consider myself the ghetto Graeme Obree, don't flatter those dickheads with my good name. I got that note, it was hugely funny when I got it but I was pretty drunk, I'd forgotten until you mentioned it there! Stirling work.

  • @ mechmorgan, excellent, glad we are friends now. if you have a ride on my bike you'll see why i opted for the bars, it makes for a really comfortable ride, however it is also not easy to hunker down and really go for it, which is a major downside. Next time I see you about you should give her a spin and i reckon you could be swayed!

  • Morgan... walking down the street in the N/4 straight past me in a complete daze on Sunday afternoon... been on the XXXXX* again...?

    (*insert substance of choice)

    simon, i love you.

  • Ste on his polo bike on oxford road this morning. I'd just got back to manc (half asleep, late for work n on a polo bike) n it really cheered me up.

  • Me almost running over Ste last night on his polo bike in the residential streets just off the curry mile.
I was in town briefly in the car, just came over to see a mate's band.
