That sounds awesome, nice one Cambridge! Can we bring our own fireworks?
-
• #4796
'bring your own fireworks', that has to go on the poster somewhere as a strap line!
To all: I've spoken to Ridgeons and the only way they do sponsorship nowadays is by writing to the head man Mr Ridgeons. I have his address, and will happily write the letter/prepare a presspack, however I'm going to need some help with the content. Will discuss tonight!

Everything looks amazing and this is the first weekend I'm back. Really looking forward to it.
The above is the only thing that slightly concerns me. If for any reason the one person providing internets can't make it, we're in hot water again.
Anyone that has an iPhone can set up Internet Tethering, I'm not 100% but I'd guess you just have to go into your phone shop or call them and pay a little extra for that month as a bolt on. Someone could at least look into it. Failing that, most companies sell PAYG dongles, I have no idea how much they are but again someone could do five minutes of Googling.
However, would it also not be worth having a backup plan in case it's a stormy or just generally poor signal day and the Internet cuts out? In such a case, Challonge is unusable. Does Hardcourt Podium run offline? Are there any other options?
I'm not trying to be difficult, just suggestions to eliminate all possibilities of a repeat of last time around.

Can also provide a second laptop if needed.
-
• #4800
good point Matt, i'm pretty sure I can tether my iphone to my laptop meaning we should be sorted. i'll test it out before the event (on the list to do)
while you're here and not in America, can you email me and Luca all the sponsor emails you sent way back when we did the first tournament? need to send out the same again to new sponsors. Oh, and please email me the old PSD file for the training day/open poster so i can make a new one!
they used to be, things have changed round these parts. i think once we sort out our tournament (meeting on sunday evening, you are more than welcome to come) things will liven up again.
