That pic up the top, is that the range of colours or something? Is it that shop at the end of carnaby street? with the massive green stickers on the windows?

No sorry the top i found in the internet, whether the last two I took of Juliet's bike at 14 a while ago.

isn't the charge bucket saddle meant to be the same as a grunge?

I ride Brooks B17 on my brommie folder which is very comfy as it's upright riding position. Now looking for a saddle that is a bit sportier for my fixed-gear with lower riding position on bull-horns. Having been a slight plonker, and sold my original mint early 90s leather Flite Titanium on ebay for £9.00 (originally paid £75 in 1993) last year, I need to redeem myself.
Any suggestions? Brooks swallow looks great, but is 6 times the price of the Charge spoon which gets good comments on this forum. Although none of the above mentioned saddles have a saddle groove, I'm just wondering if that makes a difference for you guys? - for me its not just comfort, but also the ability to get a boner that counts -

Actually they're both based on the original Turbo saddle that's well loved by certain arses.
the Soma Ta-Bo is another example.

oh yes of course, forget about the turbo.

Hmmm, resurrection alert.
Am about to do a tour and am looking for a racing saddle with padding / gel for longer, 5hr rides. Generally I prefer a narrower saddle because wider ones smash my sit bones and I find this too much to bear. To contextualise, on the commuter (20 miles a day) I ride a Charge Spoon but couldn't get on with the Concor.
I reckon my options are:
Selle Italia Max Flite Gel Flow
Fizik Gobi XM Kium
Selle Italia SLR Gel FLow
Specialized Toupe GelIf anyone has any suggestions or have similar dimensions as myself (5'9'', 75 kg approx) your advice is appreciated. Obviously I realise saddles are personal but would like to garner some opinions beofre trying them at a store...

I usually ride a Toupe Gel, but have been riding a Charge Knife saddle for the past couple of weeks, and found it very comfy, good for a fast road tourer build i would have thought, as it is a bit more forgiving, yet still a sleek bit of kit. I am going to put one on my road bike too

I'm very attached to the split design and like Italy and Italian things, so I'd go for one of the Selles. I prefer the weight on the sit bones though - I have a big arse so there's a good deal of padding there.

I think I'm the direct opposite! The Selle Max Flite looks like the best option at the moment.

Selle Italia SLR's are about 130mm in width. So I would try these. SLR or the new flite.
I'm still rocking the planet X for long distances.

I love my new SLR so far - used to swear by my old flite titanium and the SLR feels comfortable with support in the right places while still being incredibly minimal and light. Plus it looks nice:

what do we think about white saddles?
ive been offered a white Selle San Marco Regal, and im tempted, but ive not had a white saddle before, and i dont want it to look really dirty. it is leather so is it easy to clean, or does the grime seep into the leather?
-
• #242
I usually find a quick wipe with white spirit keep the saddle clean, it also removed those blue mark from wearing jean.
if you been offered a saddle for cheap, might as well take it, after all it's a saddle.

compared to my Brooks B17 I find my Rolls brutal, is the regal any better?

I brought the Sella Italia SLR Gel saddle for that Fuji frame I'm building, because of its price/aesthetics/functionality and I already found it incompatible with my fat, but astoundingly soft arse.
I'm 39 and have to start taking care of my prostate, so I got the Charge Bucket for my now everyday bike and I'm sure this is the way to go for commuting and longer rides (thanks Edscoble for the review). As for the cleaning, I use a bottle of citrus flavoured, so not pungy, degreaser in spray I bought in Halfords to clean the cockpit in my car. It removes gunk (and my daughter filthy fingerprints) and also it's good to remove any glue marks all over the bike (for example left by the handlebar tape, pvc tape, stickers etc.)

my daughter filthy fingerprints
Cute name. I like the alliteration...

saw that the other day. its a shame the cheap ones are only in silver/red:
...I love the way they are price by how good/shit the colours are.
yeah I saw that saddle on Juliet's bike and on a bike in that white shop that sell both shitty headphone and clothes in carnaby street.
no idea when it'll be release, been a while thought.
