Roxy, well done for posting this.
From the tournaments hosted this summer, its clear London is well placed to host this and would do a great job. I’d definitely support a bid to bring it here.
And I’d be up for helping. I set and manage budgets for events so would happily take that role.

I'm so conflicted about this. If it comes to London I'm more than happy to help out but a few things stirke me as needing discussion.
If the tournament is on Mainland Europe there would likely be larger representation from other countries. I'd be concerned that if it was in London we would have less people able to travel. London can be an expensive city and with the quanity of teams you'd hope for in a european tournament it would be hards to find them all places to crash (Though if it happens here I'll certainly put a couple of teams up again).
Personally, I love polo. But if the tournament was in another european country I'd get to travel AND play polo. For me this is a good thing.
For timing, I'd suggest that holding the tournament in May would be more suitable as travel during the summer months also becomes more expensive. It would also be less likely to conflict with the CMWC championships due to be held in Septermber 09. In london at lot of the players aren't messengers but is this true for the rest of europe's player?
Obviously travel to Tokyo and accommodation could realistically price would-be players out of the Polo championships and vice-versa.That said. London is my home and to host the European championships of hardcourt bike polo would be awesome.

+1 for May.
As for it being in London, well, I'd assume that it will move around from year to year. So if it's here, it may be Berlin the year after, or vice versa. Moving around would be a good thing, we get to host, and put on a wicked tournament, but the other years, we don't have to organise one, just turn up and play!

ECMC is last weekend of May. As the CMWC is in Japan, it is highly likely that heaps of Euros will go to Berlin for ECMC.

Ok, so back on track guys, this sounds good, and it's great to know people will volunteer to do lots of running around. We'd need it.
But right now what we really need, IMHO, is a committed team for the big stuff.
Here's how I see it now:
Gabes- Online fantasticness
Playswell- Treasurer
Brainflick- Court logistics
Hassan- The ref of refs
and Me- Keeping it all together (if you guys are cool with that?!)I think we really need someone pulling in sponsorship and another person working the press before we do this thing.
Ok also we need the perfect date/s to pitch. Can someone do some research on all the other bike events that have dates already around europe? Obviously we're just pitching but it'd be nice to put a date forward (it could change). Sounds like people like May but May is busy.
While I'm sure the ECMC's will have a polo touney, I do think that if we announce the EBPC's that we'll draw a great group, but we can ask Europe that question.
I don't think the messenger/polo cross over is that big across europe.Great that JOL and Gabes are on it for a bit of pretty on the website!
So if I'm going to write a pitch for this, what other events should we say we'd like to do? what's important to London? why should London host? what do we offer?

I'll happily help with the money side of things, think about the tax/accountancy side of stuff. Perhaps try and help with sponsor contacts.
