Those seal skins look awesome. They don't lose all the grippy bits over time though do they? Had a campag pair like that before but all the grips fell off.
Would be good if I can use them off the bike too.

No, not the gel pads the gloves that have the wires all through 'em.
Can't remember where but I saw a pair for a tenner somewhere recently:
There's a thread by Scott on here about them.
Ooh, intriguing. I need some of these in my life.

^^ Seal skinz are great, I have those (in different colour though) and the grips have survived well despite me treating the gloves with almost zero love. They're just not quite warm enough for my lizard-like hands.

Had to wear my sealskinz inside a pair of cheapo snowboard gloves this morning, and my fingers were still cold by the time I got to work. Time for some silk liners too I think

I find with loads of gloves I still have to move my hands around a lot.
Last year cycling in -7 I had to wear planet x gloves inside my tenn outdoors windproof ones. Hands were toasty for a while till they started sweating and soon got cold.

they hold up well. i have had the black ones for ages, they are the warmest but not the most waterproof. the yellow ones are more waterproof but not as good in freezing conditions.

Endura Lobsters today.. A fine winter bike glove..

Have you ever needed to take them off. Then try and put them back on again with slightly sweating hands. Impossible
Warm though.

Most winter (lined) gloves are like that though eh..

Discontinued, also

Used to get cold in my winter sealskinz, left one on a train so bought some Endura Dexter's as replacements. Definitely warmer not sure about the waterproof yet though.
Even in the coldest weather my hands are drenched in sweat. -

I feel some glove shopping might happen at lunchtime.

I would pay significant money for a pair of gloves that would keep my hands warm and dry come what may, whilst maintaining normal levels of dexterity.

I find these are perfect. Warm enough and waterproof.. I tend to over heat as well in "deep winter" gloves on longer training rides so these are perfect once you get going. Commuting in the lobsters is fine.. Only on the bitterest of days will I train with lobsters (coupled with the fact it's fucking impossible to get anything out of jersey pockets with them on)

^^ It's the holy grail! I don't believe such a thing exists.
I also don't believe you can get a warm hat that covers your ears that you can hear through.

Those Endura are good but I overheat in them plus that little ridge over the knuckles I find really uncomfortable.

normal MTB gloves, plus pogies.
Infact I plan to use a thin pair of full finger track gloves I have.

Those are the exact sealskinz that I lost pre-endura.
I also overheat in the Endura gloves, but I don't mind too much about that. -

Right, time to stop fucking about:

Don't drop bar pogies limit drop you to hood position only?

Yes.
But then what are you doing in the drops during winter? Are you crazy? Next it'll be leaning.
I guess they're overkill for most UK cyclists. But personally, I cant be doing with anything thicker than say those sealskins above. And I know they would'nt be enough for me.
