i have just got larger shoes as mine were snug, the extra room inside means my toes are much warmer

That is the theory I am operating on James, looks like it is about to cost me a lot of money sadly.
Saying that if you had offered to sell me a pair of gloves and shoes that would have kept my extremities at the same temp as the rest of my body earlier today I would have happily paid a grand for them.

what size sidi's do you need? i have dominators in 46 and 46.5 and carbon genius in a 46 - all too small for me these days - too much yoga has meant my feet have grown to a 47.
will be posting a sale thread soon

Current Sidis are 44, I would like to try a 44 mega, or 44.5- I think yours will be too large for me.

sorry I cant help re shoes, but how are your feet so out of proportion with your hands?

I may be a freak of nature. Also, I may be wearing shoes which are too small I suppose.
In normal shoes I am always 9/9.5, but maybe I need to go bigger with Sidis.
If anyone has a pair of 45's that I could borrow I would be hugely grateful.

I'm a 44 usually, but wear a 43 Northwave, because of the wider last, and bigger toe box (pasty feet).
Might be worth trying the same though.

Who out there is rocking the full triple Assos winter glove system?
Can they give their opinons please?

i had the basic 851 gloves - first pair split after 2 weeks, the replacement split after one ride
over priced and utter shit

I use this combo when it gets really grim/cold. Waterproof, cosy and thin. Though wouldn't work if you have gears to change!

I think mountaineering gloves are much better than “riding brand” gloves for near zero / minus zero Celsius.
They’ll have decent grip and dexterity as they are designed for gripping poles & pitons as well as using carabineers and other fiddly bits.
A silk liner with a good mountaineering glove, made with gore-tex and primaloft type fleece would be a winning set up.
Some also have wrist leashes for those times you have to remove them. If you’ve ever dropped your glove into a puddle or had it blow away when servicing something or going into your pack you’ll know how annoying that is. They are less likely to have high viz panels though, if that is important to you.
Trekmates, Lowe Alpine, Marmot and Extremities are reliable brands.
Some good options along with reviews here. Hope it’s of help to someone…

Just bought some winter gloves from On-One for a fiver. No idea if they are any good but they popped up as I was checking out, like buying a 'Big Green One' as you're paying for some vino. I was thinking of buying the rapha ones but on impulse bought these instead. May be a bonehead idea but up to this point I've been rocking some Campy wooly mits inside an old pair of (very smelly) Altura fingerless mits

great stuff, super toasty in even the most freakish cold climate
pretty sure I've said this before, never had a problem

Yep, remembered that you had good things to say about them, I reckon (possibly because I am a retard) that I am going to try the SealSkinz Zoidburg gloves, in XL, with silk liners, and if that doesn't work then I will finally pull the trigger on the Assos.
Stranglers hands^
