Gotta flag up Shorter Rochford in Finchley. They only have one or two fixed-gear models on sale, but their knowledgeable mechanics both ride fixed and it is an all round excellent shop.

Thought I'd put a word in for ProBikeKit.com
Bought, recieved (free delivery to Norwayland from the UK no less) and installed a pair of PRO overshoes before going on holiday.
Came back to a refreshing -5C, and discovered that the seam had gone on the right zip.
Informed PBK, and was told to send a pic before they would issue a return code.
Sent pic with polite mention that my poor toes are cold, last night.
Recieved confirmation of dispatch E-mail today (ehh?), followed by an E-mail informing me that a replacement is on its way and that they will refund my postage for returning the faulty pair, as and when they recieve them (ohh right, but I havent even packed the faulty ones yet!).I do all my bike related shopping online, and as such know of plenty of cheap places to shop (although only PBK deliver to me gratis). The real difference is always in the service provided when things dont go quite as they should.
Welldone ProBikeKit!
(who have a growing track section including dura-ace kit and dolan bikes BTW)

Evans Cycles in Fulham were brilliant. Big store and car-free paved/cobbled area right outside to try bikes to you hearts desire! Helpful and informed lot too.

Oh, dear. London Fields Cycles sell loads of fixed gear and singlespeed bikes, e.g. Lemond, Terry Dolan etc... and accessories. I know as they are very near us. Don't wish to give them too much of a plug!!
I am happy to concede, that London Fields Cycles do indeed provide a larger than average choice of single speed bikes.I went there last weekend, and had a walkaround inside. I spoke to a (very nice) lady in their sales team (she's here on this forum apparently), then I had a short chat with the proprietor. Their website now shows the ss/fixed bikes they sell, which were not so obvious before.
In fact the range includes (from catalogue) the practically identical Genesis Flyer and the Ridgeback Solo, as well as the ubiquitous Langster, Trek District, and Genesis Day One. So, for OTPs, they're pretty well covered.
Of course, the much smaller Kiwi Cycles offers something more tailor-made. They sorted CG5154 and me out (putting some high-heels and bright lippy on my Bowery). CG weighs probably 1/10th of what I do. So I concur that they know about bikes. They have some 531 (I believe) hipster and drops fixed bikes for sale. As well as Alu (cheaper).
North is looking good. South is well covered in range by Compton Cycles (now my local bike shop).

Two Wheels Good in Stoke Newington? I've only been in there once to enquire about some new bars, and the guy I spoke with was very friendly and helpful.

Ciclos Uno http://www.ciclosuno.com/ in Hainault is the Aladdin's cave of London bike shops. It's totally out of the way and tiny, but every square inch is crammed with old and new bikes and bits. They're really well connected, so not unusual to see Backstedt's tour bike for sale in the window in August. Trevor (pictured below) who runs it is the business and he matches pretty much any price. Lots of classic retro bits in cabinets to gaze at. And as you can see from the picture they are very track friendly. http://www.ciclosuno.com/tracks. Have I said enough? I just really rate them and they've looked after me so well over the years when I lived NE, so now you know ..

Hi - I'm going to be visiting London next week from Los Angeles and will be staying near Hoxton Square. I've only got a day or two free but I'd love to check out some shops that might be near by, or easily reachable especially any shops which might have more local or indie stuff that I wouldn't find in other fixed gear shops around the world. Any suggestions on which shops I should definitely try to hit? Thanks!!
