cheerspeafre05, go to the first page of this thread, and then look at the 2nd entry in the list.
That's A.E.Wilson (Peckham), I use them sometimes.Brixton has the very excellent Brixton Cycles.
EDIT:
Neither shop caters specifically for FGSS, but will do all that I think you might require.
If its FGSS bikes you wish to buy, then visit Evans, Edwardes, Compton Cycles (further South, I know), etc etc etc -

Can anyone reccommend (or not) either Camden Cycles or Holloway Cycles? or suggest another good bike shop in camden or holloway. New to the area and need to get a bike serviced and would like to give my trade to an independent if possible.
Thanks in advance.

Holloway Cycles isn't bad. I used them sometimes when I used to live in Manor House.
But for serious quality, I'd look for somewhere that were good specifically with the concerns of SS/FG riding.
Go to page 1 of this thread, and click on the London Map of Shops link. This would help you greatly.
**EDIT: **
Ignore me, and listen to the very good advice below. -

Holloway is good, the mechanic is on this forum a lot, mostly in polo and classifieds...

Have sorted the shops (on page 1) into geographical regions of London - North, East, Central, South, West.
I know thats not exciting, but its made it a better resource.

Well today, I went east. Way east.....to Triton Cycles (in Barkingside). I went there to get some Halo Courier Berlin tyres. I bought 5.
Yes, I am sick of puncturing.Anyway, I got there, and was met by Luke, who is on this forum. Very nice guy, with time to chat. The shop is small and friendly, with everything being logically laid out. Prices are really good. They specialise in all sorts of riding, with their 29er section getting quite a bit of business. If popping over there, and I do definitely recommend it, their service is really excellent.....and they do things for FREE, that many other shops charge for. If wishing different parts from a standard bike, they'll often (obviously if bought from them) make the changes required, and it wont cost nish.
I really liked the shop, and had to stop myself buying something quite expensive, that I didn't need. If you do pop along, make sure you call first to arrange for your preferred stock to be in the shop itself...otherwise it will be at the warehouse. Oh, mention you're from Lfgss......it can't hurt. And ask for Luke. He looks like BRM's siamese twin, separated at birth. ;)
One really interesting thing that they do, is supply threadless BB's. So, for the old steel frame that has stripped threads, life goes on.

Popped in the Bromley Bike Company yesterday. Nice shop, and quite well equipped - with a good workshop at the back. Not much single speed stuff, but they did have a black 2010 Langster, a Genesis Day One Cross, and a couple Specialized Globe 1 bikes. They concentrate on MTBs, but also have some very high end roadie frames and bikes, which would give virtually no change from £6000.oo.

All the way in the Midlands there is a shop called Mike's Bikes but unfortunately they don't stock any fixed bikes and are very snobby concerning your choice of bike. E.g. if it isn't a Trek or Specialized it's shit
Even if it's a crabon Colnago?

I'd like to recommend London Bicycle Workshop
170 Clerkenwell Road, EC1R 5DDWent there today after meeting one of the mechanics at a house party just before Christmas. It's just around the corner from Condor (literally, just around the corner) which is kind of shooting yourself in the foot location wise, but the upside is you get much more of a personal touch. They don't have a million and one jobs on the go so if you're in a hurry and something is wrong with your bike, eg. me today with a fucked headset that was getting progressively less rideable, you get seen to straight away, your bike gets sorted, and you're off. You get to have a nice chat about bikes too.

I suppose they'll catch a lot of the repair work for which Condor really wouldn't be the right shop.
A branch of Evans opened just a couple of doors down from Condor a few years ago. It's gone again now. I expect that the workshop will do a lot better.

Yeah, they're completely different shops, it's much more of a workshop - as the name would suggest - but they do the full spectrum, wheel builds, custom builds, as well as simpler repairs and servicing. Sell a lot of parts, and a few jackets, and judging by what he was saying they can order in a lot of parts if you want a specific build. They had a lot of Soma parts and two custom Soma builds in the window, Miche parts, and they had a few Pake frames unbuilt. Not heard of Pake before but looked nice.

Bump - and a little shout for Push on Stoke Newington Green, really nice people, good product, lovely shop and a nice touch at easter when they went around handing out free puncture repair kits in the local area, my son nicked mine immediately so a replacement would be much appreciated ;-)

Would you consider Big Foot Bikes in Hayes Kent. They do sell some SS bikes and I get my freewheels, chains and cain wheels from them. They have got a large and expanding club running as well. The original owner just sold up and is cycling around the world with his wife. The new owner Rob, is settling in well and is keeping the old customer first concept running. They helped me out in my transition SS commuting, lots advice about gear choice extra. I found them some years ago after some crap advice from the chains! Oddly, they have changed a 16T for a 18T after Evans had me over.

You could list The Cyclestore, stock Pinnacle track bikes, only a small shop but the owner seems to know his stuff. Just down the road from Shorter Rochford - useful on Thursday when Shorters are closed!

If someone were looking for the Olde Worlde bike stuff, this place would be a good start - The Old Bicycle Company.
There is some lovely old stuff in there.
.....and also possibly checking checking out Hilary Stone's sales.

....you're right - it should be a bloke riding a bike (vs. the crossed-flags)

The bike looks authentic, even if it might be wearing a replacement badge?
I wouldn't know though. Not very well versed in antiques to be fair. There's a lot more than just one bike there though. Its a little treasure trove.

I got stuff off them a year ago or so when their website was mostly 'coming soon' signs... At least I think it's the same people... They were great for spares...
I'm going to be doing work experience at push on newington green. the guy seems really nice, just going there now to get an insurance form back.
