I'll be there at 10.45
When I say 'there', I mean work :(
Might see people on Sunday if they're doing the cliveopaluza run...

Cliveo, dancing james, I'll be there for 10.30, meet at the cafe yeah?
-
• #479
cool 10.30 means I can stay out clubbing until 2am and then pedal home, get some shut eye and be freshish tomorrow.

The weather is real shite at the moment. Went out to meet for our 8.30 ride, got soaked within 5 minutes, turned round and went home. If the weather clears up for 10, I may head down for this

Rain seems to have stopped now but it will be windy. Nice ride home later. See you there.

I can confirm that it has stopped raining at RP and currently the sun is out. Obviously I cannot be held responsible if this changes....

All welcome back to mine for coffee - currently rocking organic bolivian chez DJ - at the end of the ride, if we pass a butcher and a baker could rustle up bacon sarnies too.

Sorry for being late - two punctures and a queue at Holdsworths when I went to get a couple of spare tubes. I was really out of sorts until the ride home with the wind behind me.
A very stressful week really showed on my performance. I will improve.
Great ride though, good company, and the weather was kind apart from the wind.

I have some competition, Purple MJ now has a wardrobe for his Rapha collection, have never met him but am concerned there is someone on this forum who is almost as much of a Nasty Man (copyright RPM) as myself.
Great Ride, though have to confess despite planning to do 2 laps with Mr Smith I had to bail after 1, thinking I have some errands to do on the bike today and still want to ride with Cliveo and co tomorrow.
Corny I am amazed you did not rip me to shreds for my lecturing you on not wearing a helmet when in my dozy state I left the house without mine this morning. Clive - you may have had a few incidents befall you on way to RP but at least you were not as much of a clueless twunt as me.

happy times...hopefully make it down a bit more (ir)regularly
-
• #494
well done guys, you're all pulling away from me I fear, I spent the day slobbing around and feeling tired and sick.
want to ride tomorrow morning though
-
• #495
I have just finished putting up the wardrobe, I think a a ride to RP with a few laps is much easier than putting together IKEA kit. Dancing James is correct now I have more space ready for the Rapha spring collection. DJ it will be nice to meet up eventually as I have heard a few things about you...
Glad you all had a good ride. -

Good to meet you all this morning. After I was dropped I did a couple of easy laps which was the original plan, cutting through the middle and generally just enjoying being back on the bike for the first time since last august.
Long way to go yet but glad to be back .See you at Calshot next sat.

well done Dave.
good to see everyone. Mike C is the king of sawyers hill.
-
• #498
Dave it was really good to see you. I was obviously disappointed when your "easy" pace involved dropping me up Sawyers Hill.
Rob, a great workout. I am improving. The fastest ever ride back with Mike and Purple MJ. The red lights I was hoping for never materialised.
Calshot has no hills!

Just seen that my fastest heart rate of the day was going up Anwell Street in Islington on the way home trying to keep pace with Mike. 163 bpm
Dark Hill was only 161.

Yep, that was a good workout. I am feeling quite tired now. Got in literally 5 minutes before the wife, so I will be peeling carrots in no time!
After getting up the Hill on the way home, my bike started making weird clicking sounds when I pushed really hard on the cranks. I thought it was the BB bearings maybe as they aren't at all suitable for the wet conditions. However, my chain is really really loose, so I must have stretched it, or pulled the wheel forward slightly on those climbs, time to give the bike its weekly clean and hope the noise goes away.
Not going to make it this week :-(
