  • Yep thats the one. Might have been £350 here, I know it was about £250 in Japan.

Best bags are Head Porter for quality. Reasonably expensive but the best build quality by far.

    I think it's this one;

  • 250? that's a better value than those Freitag F18 one.

    F18 is £180

  • F18 is £180

via a shop here? online is £197, including delivery would be £209.

  • Vice magazine folk.

All skinny-jean-beard-tache-vans-fixie-glasses-with-glass-check-shirt-ironic-teeth-boys who hate themselves as much as Jewish SS soldiers in 39.

    Bokes
    Analogy fail.
    Very poor...

I got mine for £180 direct from Freitag, I guess the exchange rate was better then.
    Either way, it's not £250 ;)

I'm after the Archie's Grobag but have to wait half a year, so end up getting a cheap Timbuk until I can get the Grobag.

nah but from what other said about the Freitag's messenger bag, it's not great for the money, either way the Visvim seemed better value for money even if it £50 more.

  • The thread about the F18 is actually full of bollocks - it doesn't seem as if anybody had actually seen one.
i.e It was stated that the F18 had no back padding - it does, and it's bloody comfy.
It was stated that it would fall apart within months - mine has done well over a thousand miles and still looks peachy.

I love my bag. It is totally waterproof, full of cool pockets, extension straps and zips. Plus it is made out of seatbelt straps, truck tarpaulins and inner tubes, which is just plain cool.

I should have added, they say 'Fail' a lot and puke not boke

great, now I regert getting the cheap Timbuk messenger bag, as I had me eyes set on the F18 since it seemed to offer a lots for the size (and quite expandable too) for quite a while.

ah well, at least I save £140 really.

    And 'whatever'...

  • And 'whatever'...

    ...your mother works at McDonalds???

    Are you the Editor?

  • Yeah, it was a guilty splurge to spend so much on a bag, but I use it every day so don't regret it.
I do regret not buying the first F18 I saw - in Berlin, where it was priced incorrectly for 180EU. I went back the next day and they had changed the tag to 250.

For what its worth, here's mine in action:
    Empty:

    Full supermarket shop:

  • yeah I saw the whole thing from here, gave me a good idea of how the bag handle without worrying about whether it might fit nicely or not.

    Very sweeping

My mate works on Vice and I can assure you he's not like that - in fact I don't know anyone on Vice that's like that although you have just described the average Ted that hangs around Shoreditch/Hoxton

My best mate works for Vice.

    Just being a cunt really.

  • We might have the same best mate

    No shit, Sherlock...

Is he tiny? Beardy and slightly Van-sie?

  • The thing with Vice - it's actually a good magazine but they bite the hand that feeds them, very much like The Shoreditch Twat used to
It generally starts off very witty, quite sharp and very current, then having read a few on the trot you just think 'fuck me, this is tedious'
All it does is take the piss out of the target market and the irony is on overload.
I remember when Neil Boorman launched The Shoreditch Twat way back and it was ace but after a year it was the same old shit - taking the piss out of all the Nathan Barley types that actually revelled in his free mag

  • Is he tiny? Beardy and slightly Van-sie?

    No

  • Archi, here's the content from Vice;*

I thought the most expensive trends is those boy racer modifying those shitty little hatchback to go up to a lighting speed of 97mph?

Ta, can't rep you. Need to spread the luv first.

    re: Visvim
Make great shoes. Branched out to clothes and accessories. All bloody expensive stuff.
Love their bags but don't think they're value for money. Very much style over substance. They mix Cordura with Elk hide on the bottom on some of their bags (not one for the Vegans!), so again not the most practical.
