do they have to justify it then? i just thought people bought them if they thought they were good value, and didn't if they didn't.

Well, each to their own, but i'd find it difficult to pay a $300 premium for a bike thats been around the same price point in their product line for 2 years without knowing what im getting for my money. I have the 07 (well, bits of it anyway). I wouldn't upgrade on the basis of banana yellow.

But yeah, Im sure they will sell bazillions of the things to folk who think they are good value.

I actually think its excellent, though for my ridiculous tastes, I'd like to see that 953 frame with track drop-outs, a SRAM single-speed or fixed set up (maybe even changing from only gear back to exactly the same one gear without anybody noticing the change-that-didn't-happen). That would be super.

For me, that gorgeous derailleur would make a lovely paperweight. You can never have enough paperweights you know.

I'm liking the look of their geared bikes - the Barbados works out at about £1k for a steel bike with Centaur, that seems good value. Anyone ever owned or rode one of their bikes?

I really like the Schwinn Cutter, it's a great pub bike for the price without resorting to the unipack.

I like the Fixie Inc. belt-driven bike more when it was rusty (the lugged fork is also nice but I go for either);
